Roscoe's Smokehouse

It has been years since I have been here. While the area and the inside layout has changed, the barbecue was still really good. I ordered 1/4 lb of brisket and the person I was with ordered a 2 meat plate (turkey + brisket) with double side of coleslaw. While the brisket doesn’t have a lot of Smokey flavor, it has enough and is super tender. I’ve had a lot of brisket that was Smokey but dry. The brisket won’t disappoint. The turkey was tender, juicy without being wet, and had a Smokey flavor. Super good. The coleslaw wasn’t overly sweet and didn’t have too much dressing. Roscoe’s is still one of the best barbecues in the DFW area!

Lived in the area for about 4 years and always passed this place so I finally decided to stop in. It's very inconspicuous from Main street but worth a visit. I took my order to go & got the Moo-Oink-In Platter with the coleslaw and the street corn. Food was ok, the best meat by my taste is 1) Jalapeno Sausage 2) Pulled Pork 3) Ribs 4)Brisket. The sides we're pretty good but the portions we're painfully lacking. My coleslaw container was only half full. Not what I'm used to as most BBQ spots over pack their sides. The brisket not smokey and a bit dry I ordered wet brisket aka the fatty cuts but got lean and didn't get a chance to taste the chicken as they were sold out. The place was packed and the atmosphere was cool.

Horrible customer service. I came in and no one greeted me, the young ladies were too busy chatting. The only greeting that I got was from a dead roach near the back. The place was not clean which made it difficult to enjoy the food. The beans were not fresh, more like canned beans. Out of everything I tested, the ribs were good however after the service and the roach, I will not be coming back.

I had hoped this would have been better based upon the reviews however I found it pedestrian. The fries were plentiful and tasty, the free condiments of onions and pickles were fresh and crispy. But the brisket was too greasy with a bland taste and the ribs over done. I found the BBQ sauce lacking character or any zest. The staff was friendly and my order came out promptly. The premises was clean and well laid out. In summary this place excelled at all the minor things but fell short of providing a memorable BBQ meal. A solid meh.

Just OK, everything seem store bought. The BBQ Sauce, Okra, spiced up Ranch style beans,. All The meat had a day old taste. I got the sample platter and so did my family (We came on a Sunday). The server Lucy said the Mac n Cheese was made to order and that was not ture it came out like it's been sitting a while. I love BBQ and I was hoping for this place to be really good. This beer was ice cold and the remodel of the place looked nice. I was hoping for some good smoked jalapeno poppers but they don't server those. It had good Google ratings but now seeing the and being a high Google rater I can tell a lot of those rating are just friends, family and works trying to build up the place. If your looking for a good family like bar place and good bar food this would be a good place to go. If you looking for good BBQ there is better is the same area. I will go back in 6 months or so and see if things have changed.
