I think this might be the oldest restaurants on the island. The loco moco here has the perfect blend of well seasoned patty and a delicious gravy. The omelet fried rice was also delicious.

That was suprisingly good and tasty food for a very good price! The atmosphere is nice, calm and inviting with some booths or tables. We shared a plate (2 person) for a light late dinner and it was the perfect amount. Enjoyed that it was really simple, healthy and tasty! Keep it up!

Love the kamaaina vibe, the food was simple everyday Japanese style, but so much flavor and freshness !!! I had the fried fish teishoku, and the best sashimi i have ever had, it melts in your mouth so creamy, like butter !!! And my fish tempura was moist and lightly breaded and seasoned just right not so oily. Must try this restaurant whenever you visit Kona side.

The wait while not huge was longer than most places on the island. The total wait was in reality not longer than 20 minutes. The food is well with the wait. We went on the Tuesday chicken katsu special, let me say this, it was damn near perfect and well worth the wait. The other good items were equally as amazing. The sashimi was great and fresher than fresh. The miso soup was amazingly deep flavored broth, not some instant packet stuff. The food overall was highly worth the wait and trip. The katsu was perfect, crunchy, juicy, perfect. Everything was amazing. Can't praise the food enough. Also the servers were very kind, sweet, and attentive. Highly amazing experience. Well worth the trip and wait.

Teshima’s is a Japanese food gem of Kailua Kona. Spacious restaurant with friendly and attentive staff. Quiet and calm atmosphere with an almost 50s-diner vibe.
It’s a good place to bring a special date or to celebrate.
The food we had was fresh - from the green tea to the tofu (that tasted homemade). The miso soup - outstanding! (And not from a package.)
My steak was flavorful and melt-in-my-mouth tender. Wonderful together with salted cabbage and pickled cucumber.
My only complaint was that the vegetable tempura was a little to oily for my taste.

Staff was very friendly and our waitress was married to the great grandson of the founder. She walked us through the history, and was very helpful in recommending dishes for us. Food was great, and portions were spot on. A great spot to stop for lunch!

Hands down, the best teriyaki beef I've ever tasted, so flavorful and tender! The shrimp tempura was light and crunchy, melting in your mouth. Our waiter was very polite, and the service was top-notch. The shasimi was super fresh and so tender! We knew it would be great when we arrived and spotted the double rainbow over the restaurant. They did not disappoint!

A friend recommended me this place and it was an absolutely lovely experience. Staff was above and beyond, food was incredible, and the atmosphere was incredibly welcoming. Would recommend any of the tempura or sashimi and the tempura Oreos were a surprise smash hit with my family. Planning on coming back as soon as I can!

Portions are huge, seating very limited, and no reservations. Service friendly and fast. Note, we were told you just sit outside on the bench and the host will come pick you up and seat you in order, which was long and a long wait for a Wednesday night. We decided to place a take out order while we waited and that was a much speedier choice. We ordered the Shrimp Tempura as it came highly recommended. It comes with 4 huge pieces of shrimp and 4 veggies, miso soup, pickled veg, cabbage, and rice.
