One of the best food I had in Kauai island. Been to several high end restaurants in the town how we could nothing beat this food selection. Pictures are attached.
Food was real good tasting and same for cocktails.
Only places to improve could be:
1) Eating plates are slightly dated so have some scratch on the plates which increase heavy metal poisoning concerns.
2) Interior is good though would appreciate slightly more upscale interior for the price you pay for the food.
Else, everything is great in this restaurant.
Okay, so this place was recommended to me and we came sort of expecting good food. JO2 exceeded our already high expectations! All of our drinks and dishes were beautiful, smelled amazing, and melted in our mouths. Far and away the best meal of our vacation. Order the Beef Cheek - you won't be disappointed!!
Great Asian-inspired cuisine at this restaurant in a strip mall! We enjoyed the ravioli, tempura green beans, beef cheeks, and fried chicken. Our desserts were the pana cotta and the cheesecake! Everything was great! The ravioli, beef cheeks, and the cheesecake were the standouts for us!
Service was great! Tami, I believe, was our waitress. She was extremely personable and had a great knowledge and enthusiasm for the menu!
Like others have said, it could use a little air conditioning in there-it was hot when we came in. One they opened the door to the porch, the breeze helped immensely!
Overall an outstanding dining experience! I would love to go back to try more of their menu!
Highlights: The octopus stole the show for us. Best I’ve ever ate! Beef cheek and ahi belly were second to that. Marlin was good, the Tom Yum curry was outstanding. Prices are fair, presentation is great.
Lowlights: Ambiance leaves something to be desired. Service was acceptable but that’s really it- The server wasn’t very knowledgeable on the menu. AC would be nice, but I realize it’s not very common here; it was 82 and sweaty in there.
We will be back! Mainly for the octopus.
The food is outstanding... may have been the best piece of fish I've eaten~ period. Couldn't get enough of the tempura fried green beans! Everything was perfection! It was so excellent, I made a reservation for next week before I left! One note, I was at a table, and the chairs were super uncomfortable!
The website menu isn’t properly updated so make sure to click the QR code on the site to get the updated menu, assuming they update that regularly. Luckily, when we went, it was and it was much better than the small bites listed on the site. And it was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend having a friend to share as many plates and you can with so that you can taste all the variety. And if you love truffle and cocktails, do not miss the truffle wash drink. I haven’t had anything like it before and have been googling trying to figure out how to repeat.
Fresh and delicious! The staff understands their menu well and were all very helpful. The food was also top notch! JO2 was a great place for a nice dinner for any occasion.
This is our second visit to JO2! We liked it so much the first time we came back! When you come to eat, make sure to get a reservation! They are very busy with good reason! From the chef to the hostess, everyone is service oriented! They make you sure you have a good experience!Our server was Jacgue! She was amazing! She gave us good recommendations both times! We requested her specifically on this visit! We had the early dinner special! My favorites were the avocado summer roll and uku with green curry! You should come as soon as you can to try the food! You have go to try the green tempura! When you like the food, then make sure to tell the chef, he has earned the compliments for sure!!
Such a great experience! The ambience, the food, the servers. Great for a date. I’m vegetarian and my boyfriend is not, we both had plenty of options. I think their menu changes from time to time, everything we ordered was great. You have to try the edamame tempura!
Amazing food. Stellar service. If you are looking for high quality foods prepared in interesting ways, please find yourself here. After weeks of research of where to try on the island I landed here with the early dinner special. Its 3 course style mixed with additional small platters and a vegetable platter was a perfect amount of food. Drinks were strong and food was incredible. I cannot ask for more.
