The Sambusa is EXCELLENT!. This friendly, neighborhood eatery is just the place to go if you are looking for good food, but something different. The Beef Sambusa is excellent. Sambusa can best be described as an African Egg Roll. Lots of meat and flavor. I had an order of rice. Rice was kinda pricey at $4.00 for an orrder, but Sambusa is $1.00 each. The restaurant is clean, and although I saw some reviewers mention that it is located in a "scary" neighborhood, all I can say is "Quit Being A Punk!" This is one KC restaurant you need to check out!

Enjoyable Ethnic Experience. We ate lunch here on a Sunday afternoon. My wife had the chicken curry which consisted of chicked pieces coated with a dry spice mixture that was sauteed with green peppers and onions. The chicken was served on a bed of rice pilaf and garnished with an iceberg lettuce and tomato salad covered with a ranch like dressing. My son had the gyro platter made up of a less syntho textured and tasting gyro meat with the same rice pilaf and salad. I had the goat curry on rice pilaf with the salad. The goat meat was dry cooked (no sauce) and there was a lot of goat meat on the bones (as opposed to many other goat currys that are bones in sauce) the goat curry platter also had a bean dish that consisted of pinto beans with sauteed green peppers, onions, and pieces of taro in a slightly spicy sauce. All of the entrees came with a small cup of a pepper sauce that tasted like pureed jalapenos and cilantro. We consumed two sambusas one ground beef and the other a finely ground chicken mixture. We also had an item that consisted a a mashed starch (either potato or taro that was pressed around a hard boiled egg and deep fried until the outside shell turned crusty. The outside crust has an orange color to it and the finished product is served covered with the same dressing put on the salad and a small portion of the pepper sauce. All the food that we ate was tasty and fresh. The cooks and the patrons were friendly and helpful. I would recommend this restaurant to any adventurous eater that wants to try other types of African food. You will need to look past the ambience and location to try foods that are not readily found in the KC metro area
Jubba Grill have the best Somalian food in KC, hands down. They also have different variety of other food. Philly steaks, fries and gyros and so many. They are very fiendly and best service.
Though not in the best part of town, we felt secure and safe while eating there. I wouldn't know if it was authentic or not. I do know that it was a clean restaurant serving delicious and freshly prepared African food. We ate in and split a beef sambusa which was a fried (?) large dough pocket filled with a meat mixture, and it was very good. Then my husband had "beef stew" and chicken curry over rice with a little lettuce and tomato with ranch like dressing. The little salad was nothing to speak of but the beef stew was small tasty bits of beef and chicken curry was strips of curried chicken with onions and peppers like fajitas over fragrant and seasoned basmati rice. I had the goat over the same rice served with salad. The goat was delicious. If it doesn't bother you to venture into different parts of the city and try different foods then this restaurant should be on your list-we truly enjoyed it and will be back again.

Great Somalian Food. Food is very authentic. Restaurant is located in a slum type area. Very nice people!! Food is extremely cheap and comes fresh and very well-portioned. If wanting an Mid-Eastern/ African cuisine definitely recommend this place!

This is the first time I have been here; I must say although the environment looks slow, the food has a heck of a taste. The food was great: the goat meat was perfectly cooked, and the rice and salads were tasty. It didn't take time for me to finish the food. 👏👏👏 Thank you for the mouth-watering experience.
This is great halal food place in Kansas City. Their food Amazing, drove all the way from Liberty and it was worthy.
Food is amazing! Service was fast! Only thing that I didn't like was, we ordered a salmon dinner, and paid salmon prices but got back to the office and they sold her talapia instead!

The food was delicious and the owners were incredibly nice and hospitable. I wish we weren't from out of town so that we could keep going back. The sambusa was very good. I had goat and rice and my husband had curry chicken and rice. I recommend both. The meat was seasoned very well and the rice was flavorful. Great experience!
This is my absolute most favorite spot!!! I always have to get 2 teas each time. I crave it! I highly recommend!! I can't get enough of their chicken curry rice!!
And it's not about customer service there. He treats you like part of the tribe! This is absolutely my most recommended place in KCMO/KS. We tell everyone about them! I've not had 1 disappointment yet!
