Fabulous and flavorful food! We're from California, so we've been raised on good Mexican/Tex Mex, so when we moved here to Kansas City we were a little skeptical when we found this little place upon our arrival. This ended up being our go-to place to get take out at least two or three times a month!
Chyess. For as long as ponchos has been open they have lost their touch. personally, I don't care for their rice...I feel like it's americanized but that's ok cus the food is good. This is one of my spots I come to after the nightlife scene. it's open 24 hours, u can't beat that! The prices are reasonable as well.
Breakfast Burritos!!. This place makes a awesome breakfast burrito. Great red & verde sauce...
The chorizo breakfast burrito is one of the best burritos in Kansas City.
I had my doubts about this place, but this morning I took the plunge, caving to my 9 am chicken burrito craving, and I am so glad that I did. Pancho's chicken burrito is simply moist, delicious shredded chicken in red sauce wrapped in the single greatest flour tortilla I've ever eaten. I can't speak for the other menu items, but this burrito was incredible. The salsa bar was great as well, serving up the same delicious pickled carrots and peppers that I remember. I grew up in San Diego and Panchos did not dissappoint! If you're skeptical, try it for yourself - I just had the best meal I've had in weeks for well under 5 bucks.
Best Mextec in the area!. I used to live in Arizona and once you get used to Arizona's mexican food it's hard to have anything else! I've had mexican in Illinois, Wisconsin, Kansas and Missouri and this is the closest you will get to the mextex that is available in California, Arizona and Texas.
The shredded beef crunchy tacos are unlike any others in the area and the rice and beans are delicious! My dad had the fish burrito and said he hadn't had one like that since living in Arizona.
This isn't perfect quality and it's definitely a hole in the wall, but everyone from the southwest should know that this is the place to be for mexican... nothing else like it.
If you can get over the facility as a whole, its great authentic burrito place. Plus- who can beat 24hrs?! We always get bacon burritos with beans for the kids. My husband loves the california burrito or the super nachos. I've always loved the fish tacos. We go atleast 2 times a month. The pickled carrots got me through two pregnancies :)
Great, late, mexican (with caveat). Ok my from my 5 or so experiences at Pancho's late-night, here's the deal: the chicken is excellent, pork's good, but steak can look more like you're eating a cow artery burrito--don't get a steak burrito. Other than that, I think this place is the tops. The older lady at the window is really nice, too.
Cheap and yummy! Best "drunk food" in the area.
Overall; A great hole in the wall with consistantly good, cheap food!
Food was good.
Fajitas were a Little on the saltier side.
The cheese on top of the Enchiladas were still cold and not melted as requested. Probably forgot. It's fine I guess.
Rice was soggy when we ate them but Overall staff was quick and friendly. Thank you
I love panchos for so many reasons. When I stopped drinking I learned it’s not only the perfect late-night drunken snack but actually a good quick breakfast spot and fast fresh indulgent meal. They’ve added some new great things to the menu like the Flamin Hot Cheetos fries. Panchos holds a special place inside my heart.
Seems to be a lot of mixed reviews on this place, but was really craving some Mexican food. We stopped in late night and I ordered the adasa torta and California burrito. Very glad we gave it a try! For 7 bucks the torta was huge! Steak very well prepared and the California burrito was epic. Can never be sure what you're going to get at a 24 hour spot, but I was very happy with the food and price.
Customer service is always fire and their chimichangas are absolutely enormous
I'll be honest, when I first heard the description "a 24 hour Mexican drive thru", I thought this place was little more than a glorified Taco Bell. Or perhaps another disappointment like Don Chilitos, which is just a trashy Chipotle knock off, in my opinion. However, I was very pleased with my service and the aroma that filled my car as I drove home was heavenly. I will admit that I had to repeat myself 2-3 times while asking what came on one of the burritos, but I could tell that English was only this man's 2nd language based on his heavy Latino accent, and I don't think it's fair to judge a place based on something like that, especially at a MEXICAN place. So that didn't affect my opinion of the place at all, and it's not fair for anyone to judge a place based on something like that. I just thought I'd mention it so that others don't get frustrated over it, because it's not something to rate a place poorly over. I will say I was not very impressed with the drive thru menu itself. It could definitely use a make over, as it was somewhat complicated and didn't include what soft drink selections there were, and had prices taped over prices to where you couldn't completely tell which one was the true price. The food is really good though and have some very large protions, so trashy menu aside, I highly recommend it. I give it 5 stars because cosmetics aren't nearly as important as the quality/quantity of food and service. I would love to see them replace their drive thru menu eventually though. It's definitely worth the money, and I think even if you have a bad experience once, you should definitely try it again, and hopefully have a better experience, because it really is delicious.
Edit: I just want to add that I am a VERY picky eater, especially when it comes to Mexican food. I have never really liked tortillas much at all, in fact, when ever I get to a point where there's just tortilla and a small amount of cheese left in a burrito or a quesadilla, I REFUSE to eat it because it's gross to me... That's how I went about eating my steak quesadilla that I got tonight, but I decided to live on the wild side and try the plain tortilla edge (which there's not much of anyway) and the tortilla IS SO F*ING GOOD that I could not contain my delight and felt the need to update my review!!! Oh my gosh, I would come here just to buy their tortillas, I swear! So good! And I aldo forgot to mention that for about the same price as a Chipotle quesadilla, you're getting not a quesadilla, but a mountain of gooey, meaty, cheesy deliciousness. It is maybe twice the size of a Chipotle quesadilla, and while my burrito is thinner than a normal Chipotle burrito, it's longer so I think they are roughly the same size volume-wise. My boyfriend and I pay $22 at Chipotle for 2 extra steak burritos, and tonight we only paid $32 for 2 burritos, 2 quesadillas, and 1 chips and dip (queso). Even if we got the exact same order at Chipotle, it'd still be less food that Poncho's and basically the same quality and price in my opinion. The steak might be a little bit lower quality than Chipotle, but as someone who basically lives off of steak, it's still really good. Now, let all of that sink in, and get your butt iver to Poncho's. It's definitely worth it. 😍😍😍
I think the refried beans are so good, I always get an extra side. They are super fast, and WHAT WAS THAT? Open 24 hours? Why yes, they are open 24 hours.
My go to place, Panchos never disappoints. It is never crowded and some day I'll try something other than my trusty #13. 🍽
The tacos we're huge! Was not expecting them to be this big! The Al pastor had the best flavor,..great pricing. will return!
So I loved the food, but we had to repeat our order over 5 times and they still got it wrong. U couldn't see the sign going 1 way until ur right on it. It honestly looks like it's closed from the outside but it seems everyone goes through drive thru
Fish tacos great especially the late night cook and cashier great service and food
This is my FAVORITE place to go especially late at night. The food is amazing especially after midnight! I always get enchiladas, tacos, or cheese dip.
