First and Foremost, the atmosphere was excellent. The waitstaff was tentative but not overbearing. Not being from KC I wasn't familiar with the beer selection and the amazing waitress was patient enough to help me select one. The restaurant area was calm, well lit and easy to navigate. The menu was simple, but had plenty of selection. During the course of our meal we couldn't help but rant and rave over what an amazing local eat this place was. I had the KC Cut, a steak, that was probably one of the best meals I had had in a long time. After several not so pleasant dining experiences this past week, our expectations were blown out of the water by this place. Everything from start to finish was hands-down one of the best times I have had eating out. Kevin, the owner, was even kind enough to come over and introduce himself, tell us a bit of history and welcome us to KC. He then went on to ask us about ourselves and bring a personal touch to the expedience. When he found out we were both in Law Enforcement he was beyond ecstatic to thank us for our service and we loved the fact he was openly "Blue Strong". This will always be a stop for us when we pass through KC from here on!.
I've been going to G.S. since it opened (about 20 years). I've never had a bad meal or bad service. Ever.
The food is always perfectly seasoned and delicious. The fact that it is seasoned is a plus since many restaurants don't seem to bother.
The entire staff is always attentive and fabulous. The owner and his family always make a point to say hi and offer thanks for supporting this great business.
Yes, I do have a kitchen in my house, I just happen to love the food that comes from this kitchen! I could eat here every day!
Have been here innumerable times with team for lunch. Great ambience and service deserves a special mention. Great food and amazing pasta and burger options. Highly recommended. Their cheese balls are delicious too!
Great little neighborhood pub. Friendly staff, good menu selections (beyond the Pub Food).
This place is a staple off Gregory ave. The service is some of the best in town. The owner always wants feed back and there are a ton of regulars. Great Neighborhood place.
Any and everything you get here is amazing!! Family environment! They make you feel like a cousin! I love this place and would eat here every day if I could!

We really loved everything about this place. From the friendly greeting, to the NCAA tournament on the television, to the great food, this place has it all.
I had the Cobb salad. It was as beautiful as it was delicious. We started off with the cheese fries which were seasoned perfectly. If I lived in this neighborhood, I can see myself hanging out here all the time. Kinda like Cheers where everybody knows your name. Definitely will be back.

The BEST PLACE EVER. I work over by this place and try to eat here about once a week. My waistline just can't handle it some weeks. Anything and everything I have tried has been amazing. The cheeseburger or the pizza. They are the best. They are extremely friendly and they are speedy. Usually packed over the lunch hour, just so you know. I am not a big drinker but I am sure they have great alcoholic drinks as well. Oh yea, their desserts are fab too. I just can't say enought good things about this place. Just try it!
What a great little family restaurant. Took my kids and my parents. The staff was great, thefood was great and everyone thought it was a find! Definitely going back!

Pretty awesome place. Very laid back. Our server was patient and awesome. Bar staff, not quite as much but I guess we only saw them in passing anyway.
They have vegetarian options and a few dishes that are their specialty.
It wasn't loud and a good spot for chatting while eating.
Highly recommend! This place is in the regular rotation for my family. Staff is always friendly and the food quality is consistent! Their pork chops are one of my favorites and their spicy cheese bites are popular with the family as well. The kiddo (and me) love their pepperoni pizza as well. Honestly, I've never had a bad meal at this place as they seem to know what they're doing. They have outside dining available when the weather is pleasant and the parking is plentiful. Give this place a try!
Our first dinner at Governor Stumpy’s did not disappoint. First off, I think we were greeted by at least 4 employees. They were all so friendly. Our waiter went through the entire menu and gave us his recommendations; which was very helpful. I ordered the St. Louis style cheese pizza. The pizza was good, but not exactly what I thought it would be. It did have the cracker thin crust, but I was expecting Provel cheese and square cuts. The salad was solid. I’m looking forward to going back and trying other options - the Waldo cheese fries are the top of my list! As we left, I think at least 3 employees said bye and thanked us for stopping in. The customer service is exceptional.
The Reuben sandwich they serve is up there with the best in KC. (M and Ms, Brownes, Tays.
You have to visit!!! Food was grea, it was very tasty, my husband had a bacon cheeseburger, I had quiche and soup. Thre girls had mac and cheese and the other one had a cheeseburger. Good prices and the staff was really friendly! We will be back when we come back to this area!! :) oh I almost forgot... you HAVE to try the walnut brownie!!!
It was very good I got the chicken speidini blew my mind how good it was and also we had the pistachio cake and chocolate cake blew my mind again but I have to say the pistachio cake was better
I go here all the time. It's a great place to grab a meal. The staff is extremely friendly and fast at their jobs. If something needs to be fixed like a wrong order/item etc. the staff/owner is on it to make it right.
Food and service were great! Just what the sign says - casual family dining.
Enjoyed the food. Also, a good pint of Guinness.
It was a nice restaurant.. food was great.. I had the potato boats that were wonderful. Great carrot cake..mmm. waitress was on it..
