I attended a conference in Kansas City and chose to walk from my hotel to this venue. The staff here is exceptionally professional and friendly. The bartender, in particular, stood out for their expertise in the menu and helpful suggestions. I opted for the brisket and burnt ends with spicy coleslaw for takeout, and I must say, everything was delightful, with a wonderful smoky and flavorful taste. I wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone in the area.
Seated quickly at the outdoor patio which was nice and cool right in downtown and not too loud to talk.
Ordered a jalapeño peach tea which was like spicy mop water. I've never sent a drink back but I did today. Server was OK about it. Ordered 2 meat plate of pulled pork, brisket and loaded potato salad with 2 half slices of buttery toast, yum! Mild and spicy BBQ sauce at the table also good, not too sweet. BBQ was tender, lean, and just smoky enough. I did have to ask for a knife and felt a bit hurried to finish. But overall very good food and would go back.

We only had a day in KC and wanted some delicious BBQ…and this place delivered! Loved the onion rings and potato salad. Great ambiance with plenty of TVs to watch the games too.
Was in town for the Beyoncé show from New York and decided to stop by. Quite possibly the best bbq I’ve ever had in my life. Was seated in the outdoor patio area. Tried the smoked wings, burnt ends, half a slab of ribs, potato salad, street corn. Frosé & Lake Water frozen drink additionally the horse feather. When we tried the wings they were moist, skin was crispy and browned to perfection. We knew the ribs were gonna be delicious. & they were. They pulled straight off the bone. Seasoning was perfect, bbq sauce was delicious, the smoke was just enough. I couldn’t believe how tender the burnt ends were. The corn and potato salad were mid but honestly the stars of the plate shone so bright, I truly wasn’t upset lol.
Service was amazing. The server was very friendly and accommodating. She made great conversation, recommended drinks, sauces and also things to do around the city. Drinks were great. Will definitely be back soon for more!
I’m ashamed that it’s taken me so long to finally have Joes KC BBQ - it was truly the best BBQ I’ve ever had! The ribs were unbelievably tender with great flavor and the pulled pork and brisket were amazing. BBQ sauce had a great tangy, smoky flavor and the beans were delicious. Their famous fries weren’t all they were cracked up to be but still very good.

Stopped in for lunch and seated right away. Our server was very friendly and attentive. I had the two meat platter (sausage and pulled pork). Flavor of both was very good and the pulled pork was tender and not dry. The only negative thing was that both the sausage and pork were cool. I didn't make our server aware of the issue as I didn't have time to wait for a corrective action and it wasn't a deal breaker. My sides were fries which were hot and fresh and the green chili cornbread. It was very tasty but little dry. I had a local beer which was very good. I would definitely give this place another shot.
Business trip and my Lyft driver suggested this place. Great choice! Full of flavor and the sauces were great. Onion rings were perfect also. Great choice for KC BBQ.
We just had appetizers for dinner, and it was pretty good, the brisket nachos were good, but I felt that the brisket kind of was not there on the nachos so that was kind of disappointing, my wife had the wings and they were really good the sauce was AMAZING! We also had the pulled pork poppers or whatever they were called, and they were delicious and tasty, I could have used a little more jalapeños flavor!
Not sure it is worth the detour!
This BBQ spot has a great vibe, great customer service, good vibrant atmosphere, great food and portions sizes for food are more than one could ask for. Service from the time your food is order to the time it is in front of you for consumption is minimal. Very spacious and clean. Only complaint is that they are in the middle of an entertainment district and close very early. They also have great prices for food and alcoholic beverages.
