Lazy Dog

A true cut above! The passion by chef Brian for the food and menu really shows through! Tried the braised short ribs for the first time and can't stop thinking about when I can get them again! Amazing! Our waitress Stephanie was amazing too. Also we've been here at least three times so far and have been impressed each time. If you can I highly recommend the meat and cheese board as it was incredible too.

One of the worst meals I’ve spent way too much money on in a long time. We were Disappointed when we went in person a year ago, and are disappointed now. The Cajun Alfredo pasta had exactly THREE slices of sausage and maybe TWO pieces of chicken. AND it was supposed to be penne, it is cellentani pasta. It had zero flavor, my retired Army father said he has had better MREs. The Korean BBQ Skewers were PATHETIC, skinny pieces of meat with no flavor. Looked NOTHING like their photo. The brussel sprouts were okay, but tasted burnt. They didn't include the piece of toast we paid extra for. All around incredibly disappointing, will NOT be repeat customers. With fees and tip for the delivery driver, over $80. I should say, I KNOW the cost of quality ingredients have gone up and makes it difficult for restaurants to maintain quality and overhead. However, if that is the case, DO NOT post pictures or allow them to be posted that falsely advertise a quality and quantity of food that simply isn’t accurate.

We ordered the ribs and chicken pot pie. Ribs were good,chicken pot pie not so much. Would have gotten it replaced but the waitress did not come back throughout the meal until the check was dropped off. I paid my bill and the machine asked if I would like to tip 20% which I did. I started thinking about why the tip on the paper check said I tipped over seven dollars when the bill was only 22 dollars. When I asked why that was I was informed that the actual bill was over 35 bucks and thats how the tip was generated. 30 dollars for one glass of soda and three ribs was not worth it.

I was excited to check out the newest location of lazy Dog in Northern colorado. However when I visited I was severely disappointed. I don't know if they were short staffed due to covid, or this is standard practice but we had to wait 15 minutes for a table and they weren't even busy. Once we finally got sat I asked why did we wait so long? The host responded the server wanted to go home early so we had to find someone to cover the section. I looked around there were only three other tables occupied in the entire section! Wow! Talk about lack of service! This food was marginal at best, the poutine was burnt, the pasta bland with rubbery sausage and the wings were just weird (flavor). I will give this place another try and hope that the first experience was just a bad day.

UPDATE: When we got home, my fiancé bit into the middle of his burger (he only ate a few bites when we were dining in) and noticed that it’s literally raw. We are shocked. I’m not sure this could have been any worse. I also called and spoke to a female manager who was relentlessly interrupting me in the middle of my sentences while I was trying to calmly explain the situation to her. They refunded our whole meal but I cannot believe the horrible food experience and the rudeness of the management. DONT GO HERE!!!! ***** While our waitress was very kind and the place was clean, those were the only two good things about this location. You’re truly better off going to the one on Hwy 7 in Erie if you must try Lazy Dog. I thought we were being punked at first because the apps were so bizarre…shishito peppers had absolutely zero flavor, seasoning, or appeal and were charred (not sautéed to be crispy or grilled…just charred). I sent them back to the kitchen. Then we got our chips and guac and there was an absurd amount of salt on the tray, we were dumping salt off of our chips. I’m not sure if the kitchen staff is new or if there is no management back there, but this was really not a good experience. Too much money for very little delivery or flavor. Unimpressed.

Nice vibe and ambiance with good food selection didn’t feel like every other bar food place… order the Buffalo chicken dip, little heavy on the Buffalo sauce, over powered everything else and made it too Buffalo-y, tossed it up to a bad batch, shrimp and grits would have been out this world if it wasn’t so salty, other than that good! But let me tell you about the Adobo braised short ribs!!!!! 🤤🤤🤤…. This was absolutely amazing!!! I would literally come back for this dish!!! Them ribs were gunfire!!!! 😋😋😋
