Trostel's Greenbriar

One of the better restaurants in Johnson. It's a mix of trying to appear classy but also pretty casual. Good for a date night or business meeting. Highly recommend reservations ahead of time as it always seems busy. The food was pretty good. For appetizer went with the Calamari. I decided to go with the Chef special which was Sliced Wagyu, it was delicious but slightly small portion that left me wanting more. Also had the Three Cheese Pizza which I enjoyed. Then finally dessert was the Tiramisu which I also enjoyed.

Service was off to a slow start, but rapidly staff noticed and did everything to fix it. It was especially meaningful since we went to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday. It was just the two of us and we were so excited. They gave excellent service. The food overall was great, besides the smashed baby red potatoes. They tasted like oil and we couldn't eat them. The pieces of cake were excellent. The food was great overall and flavorful. Highly recommend the coconut shrimp especially.

We made a reservation, everything was ready for us. Had a party of 3 and Stacey was our server. She was FANTASTIC! Very attentive. My fillet cam out more done than I ordered, and she IMMEDIATELY apologized and asked if I would like a replacement or something else. I went with what my Mom had ordered and ordered the same thing. Came back PERFECT! The manager came out and apologized….not needed…was so kind and offered a dessert. We frequent this establishment and will continue to do so. Great service, great food! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

We had an amazing anniversary dinner last night! I felt incredible and my husband did a double take and stumbled over his words when he saw me. (Anyone who knows Randy, knows this is very hard to do.) We had never been to Greenbriar before, but we were THOROUGHLY IMPRESSED! The food was amazing! Our server IMPECCABLE! Stacy was really able to understand our needs and prioritize her tables accordingly! (She had a hand in a homecoming party of 12, a party of 9, 2 top, 4 top, 5 top, and us!) I have never been treated so well in a restaurant, especially an upscale restaurant! I will always be back only to see her! I was most impressed with how Stacy was able to gage and read the needs of each table. She knew we needed little attention, the homecoming party A LOT, the 2 top more than us, her regulars(the 4top) little attention and the 5 top would be good as long as they had their bar drinks. She is a pure gem and deserves all the recognition! Thank you Stacy for making our anniversary dinner one to remember! You are amazing girl! The food was incredible. The appetizer of baked mushrooms was pretty standard 4 rating. I could make the same thing at home. The prime rib melted in your mouth with a healthy helping of horsey sauce and au jus. The scallops over mushroom risotto has so much flavor and just enough lemon to bring out the scallops! Both entrées 5/5!

I probably won't be back. I used to like this place a lot but my wife ordered a medium-well steak and they sent her a raw/ medium-rare at most but it was pretty much raw. We don't like to complain so my wife was just gonna eat it. I thought maybe the server just heard wrong and heard medium rare instead of well.. she said no I heard medium well and I put it down as that. she said "its supposed to be pink the chef said" lol yes it is supposed to have some pink but the entire steak was pink and bloody. It really wasn't a big deal but they made it a big deal by not owning their own mistake, The manager came to the table even though I did not ask for it and continued not owning up to it. She made excuses and tried to blame my wife because she didn't send it back. This is the type of experience that will keep me from ever going back to a place. Just disappointing that you can't own something. Here my wife is day 2 of food poisoning after eating there a really big letdown.
