Great Value, Very Good Food. So my wife and I have been looking for a reliable Mexican place to eat since we moved to Searcy back in May. We've been to all of the usual places in Little Rock that according to people we spoke to and the reviews we read that were supposed to be pretty good. None of them were up to snuff as far as we are concerned. We have to drive into L.R. if we want to drink margaritas with our food which we always do and the Mexican places in Searcy are beyond terrible. They're down right nasty. (still can't understand why Casa Brava in Searcy is so popular....the food really is just plain bad)

We didn't try this place initially because we thought they didn't serve alcohol but we later found out they did. The Patron Margaritas were the first thing we ordered and the first thing we were served. Let me make a quick mention about the service here. Some of the reviews we read said the service at this place was the worse part about it although many people liked the food. But for good food we were willing to put up with slow or poor service. We came in at around 3:00 on a Saturday afternoon and were seated immediately. (it wasn't busy maybe three tables were occupied when we came in) We had no problems with our service at all. It was fast, unobtrusive and they got everything right the first time. No problems there. Back to the margaritas. Both my wife and I had the Patron top shelf margaritas and they were both fantastic. My wife had one on the rocks and I had a frozen one. They were both very potent, especially the frozen one, and had great flavor. None of that cloyingly sweet syrupy like mix. Real margarita flavor and quite a bargain. I only had one medium but had I not been driving I would have enjoyed several. We both hoped that was a harbinger of things to come. It was. The food is simple fare but you could tell care had been taken in it's preparation. It was the kind of food you might expect to get if you were to walk into any middle class Mexican family's house to eat dinner. Comforting, filling, seasoned perfectly and very satisfying. People have to realize when you order things like Carne Asada and Chili Verde with pork they are using cheap cuts of meat (not filet or pork tenderloin but skirt steak and Boston butt) and that is one of the things that makes the dishes taste so good. You could tell the Chili Verde had been cooked for hours and the pork simmered in the sauce because of the dept of flavor. The Verde sauce was properly prepared with tomatillos and had that slightly bitter flavor from them that was perfect. The Carne Asada was simply marinated skirt steak done of the flat top and served with a huge portion of caramelized onions, flour tortillas, refried beans and rice along with a plate of cojita cheese, sour cream, sprigs of cilantro, guacomole and pico de gallo. Even the beans and rice were a step above the usual. We also had a plate of enchiladas verdes with two cheese and one shredded chicken enchilada (the dish normally comes with one ground beef, one shredded chicken and one cheese filled one but we got another cheese filled one in place of the ground beef) smothered in the verde sauce with melted jack cheese on top. Simple and delicious. We also had tableside guac which was very good. The only thing not up to par was the salsa served with the decent chips when we sat down. It has the consistency of ketchup although it tastes better than it looks. Still not stellar. But all in all very satisfying home style Mexican food that hit all the cords I was looking to strike in our search for good Mexican food around the L.R. area. It's going to be our go to place for our Mexican fix while we're here. I'll end by saying that the prices were ridiculously low for the quality and quanity of the food. Three entrees, tableside guac and three top shelf margaritas for less than $75. We brought enough left overs home to have another meal for both of us.

My absolute favorite Mexican restaurant in the area. Most people in the area agree as well. If you want an awesome environment with great food at great prices with some booze here and there, stop by papito's and give it a try.

I love this place. Their lunch specials are awesome. Tons of food for about 6 bucks. Usually pretty busy but the service is fairly quick. Coworkers and I can be in and out in 40 min for lunch. Definitely will keep coming back.

We love Papitos! I love the steak tacos. Their salsa & cheesedip is good too. The salsa has chunks of onions and cilantro in it. I don't like onion really so I eat around them.

Papitos is the best Mexican restaurant in the whole north little rock, Cabot and Jacksonville area. They're under new management and has gotten much better the food is good and full of flavor, the menu is extensive and has a lot of delicious upscale items you won't find anywhere else. I love their margaritas and their beer towers they're awesome. The manager came to our table to check on us and had a small conversation with us, he was very charismatic and knowledgeable despite his age. I have to say this is a beautiful reataurant with great atmosphere I for sure give them a 9.9

Incredibly wonderful staff that tries to work with your every request. Came in crying after a bad day and they were perfect mix of sympathetic, caring, and still doing their job. When u came back they remembered me and gave me great device once again. Incredible staff, decent food.

It's not bad. It's cheap so I guess you get what you're paying for. Last time I went was on a Friday and half way through dinner karaoke night started so it got pretty loud and the staff was to busy watching people sing and forgot to tend to the guests. Overal you get good value for your money.

Mixed drinks surprisingly 👍 I'm horrible with names, but the waitress (young curly bun) suggested a drink. Wonderful purple goodness is what it was! If you are not satisfied with where you are seated they never have attitude to put you wherever you want. There is OUTSIDE seating. When my mom visits from Kentucky Papitos is where she wants to go.

First time visitor: wife and I had good service and the food was on point. The hostess wasn’t all that friendly but the waitress more than made up for it. Wife enjoyed her chimichanga and I enjoyed my rancheros. There is a bit of renovation going on outside but don’t let that put you off.

Excellent margaritas!! Lol. Great food as well and service and overall ambience. In my opinion, Papitos is the best quality Mexican food in Jacksonville. The salsa is good, the little bar is really nice, it always looks and feels clean, nice restrooms. Overall one of my favorite places to eat in Jacksonville. Those margaritas tho.. mmm. :)

Much better tonight then the last time I was there. Food was much better. Guessing the waitress wasn't having a good night. She wasn't rude, she just wasn't there. Had to go to the register to get something else for our table at one point. I enjoyed it & will be back.
