Great Venezuelan restaurant in San Marco. It's tucked away in a strip mall off of Saint Augustine road. They make amazing empanadas, chicken, beef and cheese and you can get an order of 3 to try them all and they make them fresh. It takes time to get your order, but that's because it's all made to order and totally worth it. Their burgers are also great, try the one with Serranos and a fried egg. They also, make some of the best guava pastries I've ever had.
This was an amazing eatery but the food came out so slowly for lunch... We tried 4 items from the menu even the empanadas.. and everything was amazing . I had the burger with egg it was so good ... The garlic Mayo dip is like crack to everything it touches.!!! #jaxlocalvibes
Clean home cooked food at reasonable prices. Popular lunch spot. Friendly staff. Hamburger s and plenty of Venezuelan options.
I've only had their Arepas, which were phenomenal. Arepas are tasty cornmeal cakes — grilled, baked or fried and filled with everything from avocado to braised meat to quail egg salad — and is considered the cornerstone of Venezuelan cuisine. If you've never had them before, come to La Nota and give them a try!
Tasty Venezulean food. Tried the tequeños: not bad, as an appetizer. Then ate the pabellon, a traditional Venezuelan plate. I believe I tried the Andino (Andean) version. This one included carne mechada (unique Venezulean-style shredded beef), with black beans, an arepa (Venezulean thick corn tortilla-like bread-- a Venezuelan staple), white rice, tajadas (plantains) and a fried egg. Enjoyed it. Reasonably priced too.
Friendly and helpful service explaining menu items. Clean restaurant and modern despite outside shopping plaza. BEST EMPANADA I've ever had. Mouth watering. Got the bean and cheese. Then ordered an arepa (chicken and avocado). The sauce is brilliant. It was a lot of food for me and I could have just been satisfied with one empanada or one arepa, not both - but glad I took a chance on this place and will tell all of my friends!
This restraunt is one of our favorites. Their daily specials are always great. 3 of us had the bbq rib special on Friday. 2 ribs, rice, black beans, slaw and fried plaintains for $8.99.
The ribs were cooked beautifully, crisp on the outside, tender and moist on the inside, seasoned to perfection and not greasy at all.
The slaw used a vinegar base, no mayo, and was tangy and delicious.
As usual the black beans were tasty and when mixed with the white rice made a great side dish.
Of course the plaintains were good as well.
La Nota is the best kept secret in San Marco.
Great Latin lunch today, the best so far in Jacksonville. Everything is made from scratch and serve perfectly...
