It is sad that Sonny's on University is closing. Our tradition of Sonny's Sunday with Dustin will always be great memories. Thanks for all the laughs, Big Deal Combos, and sweet teas to-go.
Sonny's bbqs has always been my favorite restaurant I love their food there sweet tea salad bar their staffs always so nice when I go in there restaurants so clean you never have to ask for anything the servers have all been so nice every time I've ever ate at a Sonny's BBQ ohhhh that sweet sauce is my favorite I put it on everything😏🤩
Our order was perfect. No mistakes, deliciously prepared and satisfying. Fed a family of 4 adults one child with appetizers and self-pickup for under $80. Staff was extremely friendly and polite. Definitely a location I'd recommend and look forward to visit again.
This place was extremely lovely! I walked into the restaurant and everyone greeted me. It felt like home. I asked if I could sit anywhere and John said "of course." The Hawaiian Burger was incredible. I had it cooked medium well and it carries grilled pineapples, the flavors were an exotic explosion, in my mouth. I can't believe how delicious it was. I told my family how happy I was with my meal. Place definitely feels comforting.
Very polite wait staff. Decent salad bar, great meats! Always a go to place when I'm eating low carb. It's hard to resist their garlic bread! They have all you can eat meat options. Great for a family atmosphere.
Had an office party last Friday and ordered food from this location. Gloria was my rep and she got my order over to the closest location which was very close to my office. The food and everything I could ever possibly need including an extra bag of ice so I didn't have to make another stop was in my order. The hot food was hot and the cold cold. It was so delicious!! Seamless and enjoyable experience from start to finish. I highly recommend Sonny's for your next catering need.

This place was pretty good, definitely wouldn't be disappointed going here. The atmosphere is great, small place with limited seating and a relaxed feel. They have their own small parking lot so parking wasn't a problem, but we also went at 4pm. The staff was friendly and chill. The mac and cheese was INCREDIBLE! Highly recommend it. I also really enjoyed the dandelion green potato salad, a different spin and a classic favorite. The meat was solid, we got ribs and brisket (both on a sandwich and alone). The BBQ sauce they used was a little on the disappointing side, it's just not the kind you want to eat off a spoon. Would definitely recommend trying this place out!
Was great! Got there at peek lunch rush, a friend and I. Both had the salad bar which was nice looking and full. Each had cornbread which was melt in your mouth luscious. Server was not super attentive and could tell he was newer but none the less he was great!
I went to Sonny's to have a good bite of beef brisket. I do not think I made a mistake. Brisket was tasty and price is awesome. Portions were not too bad considering the price. Was not particularly in love with the boring and unpleasant service. But food was good.
