Admittedly, I am being a bit generous because this is a locally owned mom and pop business. We've become pretty dissatisfied by the offerings on Dunn Ave. after living in the area for a long time now. Our visit was the Friday before Christmas, which means we really wanted to stay away from the River City Marketplace craziness but still wanted some ice cream. We had seen the sign for ice cream when driving by this usually shady strip mall on Dunn Ave. previously and after checking out the few wonderful Yelp reviews we decided to take a chance (knowing that places with only a couple excellent reviews could have been submitted by friends and family). The little place is tastefully decorated, the staff are super friendly and welcoming and about 50% there to becoming a successful chain. There is a small counter with a register and menu boards that are hand written with just the flavors listed. You must go through a presentation where they describe almost every flavor to you. This is cumbersome and overwhelming, but necessary as they make some custom flavors and there is no other way to tell what is in them. None of the ice cream is visible to customers. Still, they offered samples and this is when I was impressed. The ice cream is premium, and I'm an ice cream snob. I later find out that they have at least 16% butter fat which is truly premium ice cream. I am shocked to have found locally home made ice cream on Dunn Ave. that rivals anything else I have had. This is not the grainy City Kidz Ice Cream. This is the stuff that you simply can't go to the grocery store and serve yourself at home. This is the reason why making a special trip for ice cream is a thing! Okay, the ice cream is fantastic. The staff are great. The place is clean and tastefully decorated. I do have some suggestions as I would love to see this place succeed. The windows had streaks on them. I like crystal clean windows. The ice cream flavors need descriptions either on the menu boards, or at least printed on paper menus that people can read at their own pace. The story of this place should be prominently placed somewhere. The paper menus with the ice cream flavors would be an excellent place. 16% butter fat is impressive to people like me, and even if not an ice cream snob it still sounds good. They have fun t-shirts. I would like to see them for sale. They could even make them more fun with some sort of play on their custom flavor names, or something. Would I buy a t-shirt, probably not, but I know people would. There is only one of these stores, so a t-shirt could be an easy sale to increase profits. The customer part of the store is very small, whereas the back of the store seem cavernous. Right now this serves them well as they are not busy, but when they get busy having dedicated so much space to the back of the house for no reason will be an issue. They had some gaming type magazines on all of the tables. I don't understand why and I don't need them. Get rid of this clutter. I did look behind the counter. The sink is right up front and there are some flooring issues. This is a poor layout and the plumbing issues need to be corrected so it isn't so obviously bobo. I know cases are expensive. As they are able they really need a display case so that people can see the ice cream. Please do no ever tell your customers that you wish they would have come in a bit earlier as they just gave the long presentation. It was not meant to be rude, but if someone said it to me I would just leave to save you the hassle.

This place is a find, in the middle of a strip mall. However, they have a solid variety of flavors and different offerings to try. The ice cream I got was pretty good and the price was very reasonable. It’s definitely not a huge operation and there isn’t a lot of seating space, but it’s a good place to get some ice cream or milk shakes in this area!

Cute homemade ice cream shop. I had Cookie Monster and Reeses ice cream. The Cookie Monster was good it had marshmallows and cookie pieces in it. The Reeses was just a peanut butter, I wish it had chunks in it. I took it to go but it would be a cute cheap date spot.

Oh my! The ice cream is rich with flavor (so many choices) and the service is richer!!! We’re so glad to have a scrumptious and very delicious ice cream store in our area of town. Although the location is convenient, the store would do so much better at the airport/ River City Market Place! I am spreading the word about Cow in a Cone!!! Thank you to the warm and inviting owners. I’m so proud of the family, Black owned business!!!!

Omg! I went here one evening with the family and had the best ice cream I’ve had in my life. The ice cream was creamy/fluffy. It reminded me of marshmallows. There’s many flavors to chose from. They have vegan options and spiked ice cream. The owner and worker were very friendly. This is our new favorite spot.
