The food is pretty decent, I just wish at the time they had the food I desired to eat. The lady at the front counter her personality was beautiful and she was so easy going. She let me know about the items that weren't available so I was able to get with they had at the time. Once I got my food the staff who made the food wasn't to friendly but I'm thinking they may have had a rough day. Once I got the food, they chicken was very flavorful but my favorite part was the cabbage. Omg that was some of the best cabbage I've had from a Caribbean restaurant in a long time. It was so delicious. I will come back to try something else again.
My friend recommended this place to me and I will say it was absolutely delicious!!! So flavorful, fresh , seasoned very well , and over all a solid place. The wait wasn't too bad maybe like 15 minutes all together before I got my food. I got the oxtails 😋. The rice was on point and the cabbage was perfect!! If your around this side of town you must stop by !!!!!! Even if your across town I would still say that it's worth the trip. Can't wait to go back and try the curry chicken!
Oxtail was amazing. A bit of a wait but it came out hot and fresh. Cabbage and rice and beans were fantastic. Curry goat could have used more seasoning but that’s just my personal preference. Staff was friendly and helpful. Def going back with more friends!
I must say, 2 years later, the business has really stepped up their game. Their flavorful food was never an issue. It was the lack of customer service. Now, the staff has improved on timelessness of orders and customer respect. My call-in orders are always completed upon arrival and if I request extra gravy added, there is no attitude or extra fees (I usually have paid for the initial extra gravy fee). I tried their pasta salad for the first time and it is soo DELICIOUS!! The velvet cakes are always good. We frequently order the jerk chicken dinner, which is FIYAHHH!! No other local business oxtails tastes as good as theirs. It’s the only place and I’ve tried many that I would ever order oxtails from. The flavor is insanely DELICIOUS!! No business is perfect and there is always room for improvement. With that being said, can we get a call-in checkout lane please?? This will prevent your preorder customers from waiting in long lines.

Stopped in Jax to visit family. Gave this place a try. This was a Take Out order. Food came out HOT and Fresh!!! Presentation was on point and very tasty. We ordered Stewed Chicken and Mac n Cheese for the kiddo. I tried the kiddos Mac n cheese first and omg!! I will return on future visits to Jax. Only Downside a bunch of signs with rather lengthy verbiage in regards to additional charges due to various reasons. Also the menu at the order window need to be updated. Like I had no clue how much the additional side Mac N Cheese would cost.
Food was amazing and customer service was amazing as well. They were very friendly and welcoming. Were even walking around making sure everybody dining in had everything they needed.
I've eaten there on multiple occasions and was never disappointed with their food. I've eaten the oxtail, jerk chicken, and goat before. There is always a long line to wait to order your food. The time before this, I waited forever only to find out they didn't have any roti (the only item I was ordering due to my craving). Needless to say, I was very disappointed because I believe they should have put up a sign or even handwritten it on the chalkboard. Anyways, this past Friday, I visited to try something new (goat soup). In the US Virgin Islands, we call it goat water. It was delicious. I would recommend that others try this dish.
Food is always grilled fresh and tasty! The lady that owns this establishment is always very grateful for your business & a lady of faith! It doesn’t look like much from the outside, but it’s well worth the wait on To Go Orders!! I highly recommend!!
Authentic Jamaican restaurant! I ordered and enjoyed a mixed plate of oxtails and Curry goat over steamed rice with steamed cabbage. Both oxtails and Curry goat was seasoned perfectly and tender.
Rice and peas was also available. I enjoyed a cold Red Stripe. Nuff love to the chef and owner for bringing Ja to Jax. Sweet surprise while in the area on business.

The food is good, nice size portions. They charge an extra fee if you don't pay with cash. They sell Roti skins which are very difficult to find in Jacksonville.
