Sake House has been serving the Riverside area for years, and delivers, the freshest of fish and other dishes at a reasonable price. The interior is quite nice, well decorated creating a peaceful vibe. This was a late lunch visit, so there were few people eating at this time; we had everyone’s undivided attention. Menu items are plentiful and pretty basic, offering soup, salads, Hibachi Grill, Teriyaki, Tempura as well as the usual Sushi rolls and house special rolls. Each roll or entrée includes a bowl of clear soup or salad, with ginger dressing, which we both declined. The chef did send us a healthy portion of fried krab with shrimp sauce.
Sake House serves large portions of food at reasonable prices. It is worth a stop especially when there is a wait at the other area restaurants. Service is always fast and friendly. They have a great little covered outside patio on Margaret St.
They are always good!. ...while the service and the pricing is always good as well!
This place has really good sushi. Love it when in Riverside!
My extended family and I have eaten here maybe 10 times in the last two years. It is our go-to sushi place for this side of town. We have always had a great experience and never a single complaint. The ingredients are fresh, service is friendly, and we have never had to wait longer than 5 minutes to be seated on a Saturday night. Also, the older sushi chef is probably the best in all of Jax. If you get him, you are in for a treat! Prices are typical of sushi/japanese steak houses. Their sushi menu is extensive. I have even asked for custom rolls and the chef happily made my request. Highly recommended!
Consistent good sushi. Not the best in town, but the best for the area.
Pretty average. Sake House is a pretty average sushi restaurant in my opinion. Sushi is priced lower than other sushi places in the area, and it shows in the size and presentation of the rolls. I usually come here to eat a lot of Sushi, but to eat awesome sushi, try Sumo Sushi off of King Street about a mile away. Their sushi is artwork and tastes incredible.
Good sushi and reasonably priced japanese lunch. Best in 5 points IMHO.
Love this place they remember my family each time and have watched my little girl grow into a sushi eating baby. Food is awesome
Hey Maggie I really enjoyed your food. Love to speak with you very soon. We at DoorDash wanted to come out and show our support. Great food and atmosphere.
We tried Sake House and really enjoyed it. If you check in on Yelp you can get hot sake for free or something else. We decided to try hot sake. It's not our taste.
The food was amazing. We got chicken fried rice with extra egg not realizing how big the serving is. I wouldn't have ordered a side of fried rice if we had known. We each got a jimmy smith roll and it was good. A little too much cream cheese for my taste but not horrible.
My partner really enjoyed his fried ice cream.
We definitely will be back.
This definitely has a warm, comfortable, hole in the wall restaurant feeling to it. The speed and quality of service was about average, although no difficult orders or requests were made, and it wasn't super busy.
The quality of the food was above average, better than any of the few other sushi restaurants I've tried recently, and very fresh. It did seem slightly pricey for portion size, but maybe that's how everything is now.
We tried to go to Sake House on Riverplace this evening, but after circling trying to find parking and then making it inside they had a 20 minute wait on a Wednesday night. So we got back in the car and drove 1 1/2 miles away to Sake House on Lomax. They were making a good amount of to-go orders, but the inside was empty. That worked out for us as the sushi rolls were probably the best they've ever made. sooo good!! New York and Jimmy Smith rolls
My main go to in riverside.. love the sushi..
Also there is alot to choose from on the menu..
My mother and I always visit Sake House when I'm in town. Don't be discouraged if there are not many people dining. It's not a reflection of the food or service. Hands down one of the best sushi restaurants in Jax.
Good sushi and service was fine. Bus tub and cleaning rag were just in sight on sushi bar though. However, the sushi was delicious and fresh made and I recommend.

We loved it. The sushi was fresh. They had vegetarian options also. The forest roll will melt in your mouth.
Picked this place for dinner. It's in five points in Riverside. There's street parking out front. It looks small but there's actually a whole other area in the back. I ordered clear soup with Salmon and yellowtail sashimi with water. My two rolls were the shrimp tempura roll and the Blue Monster roll. Both were really good. The Blue Monster had eel in it which I also enjoy. My partner got clear soup, ginger salad, and the steak and shrimp hibachi with noodles and egg fried rice with coke. My daughter had the chicken nuggets kids meal with apple juice. And one of the sushi chefs gave her a white bunny candy. Unfortunately it was tough for chewing so we weren't able to give it to her since it posted a choking hazard. But we appreciate his kindness anyway. Arigatou gozaimasu!
Restaurant around the corner was on and hour and a half wait. Pleasant surprise to find this place... able to get right in. Just had a couple appetizers and drinks. Scallops were yummy!! I would go here again!
