Which was nice and strong. We shared the lamb shank, lemon chicken soup and the house-made bread. The lamb had an amazing flavor and felt like a healthier option. I want to come back and try the baklava cheesecake!
We were passing through Jacksonville and stopped in for a quick dinner. This friendly little spot was the perfect place for our dinner. They have several Greek wines to choose from and the server described them accurately. They are able to make certain dishes GF and vegan.
I had the chicken souvlaki with rice. It was GF. The chicken was tender and so flavorful. My daughter had the chicken pita wrap with fries and loved it. We also ordered an eggplant dish that was flavorful and GF.
I don’t normally comment on staff- but the staff seemed so happy and made the experience enjoyable. We will definitely return when in the area.
This is definitely the place for authentic Greek food! The grilled octopus was nice and tender. I also had the veal Riganato and the veal was so tender and delicious! The mushrooms in the lemon-caper sauce just put the dish over the top. For dessert, I had the baklava and it was perfectly sweet, light and excellent as well. Our family will definitely be returning in the future.
It doesn’t get anymore Authentic Greek than this place. Family owned and operated. Owner are so caring and super client driven. Their chicken lemon rice soup is DIVINE as so is the rest of their food. A must visit! Highly recommended.
Our first visit at Athenian Owl was getting a snack to-go last week. Not only was the food noteworthy but George also made us feel welcomed and that's why we doubled back next week and vowed to get lunch.
Entrees are a good size and come with soup or salad, plus they give you bread and olive oil at the table.
The decor is elegant and fun. Beautiful white marble bar and a collection of owls throughout the restaurant.
Be sure to ask the server about the daily special, and don't ask for hot sauce.
First time visitors. We ordered the Moussaka with a bowl of avgolemono (a lemon chicken and rice soup) and a gyro with fries. Food was very flavorful and was *clearly* made by hand, just as though it would have been cooked at home. We will definitely be regulars here!
Warm lovely family owned spot. It came highly recommended to us and…discovered for GOOD reason. Lunch was fresh, healthy and delicious. We shared a generous Greek-salad & Spanakopita. The bread they shared to table was dangerously delicious too. 😋 YUM
Finally tried this restaurant and was completely satisfied....excellent service. The octopus was grilled to perfection. The lamb was tender and spinach sautéed with garlic was very flavorful.
First of all, the service was amazing. I've never been in a restaurant where I felt like family walking in. Such wonderful service from everyone. Also, so much food. You are started with bread and oil for dipping. We then ordered gyro and lamb dishes, which came with soup or salad, so we did one of each. We also got hummus and pita. Did I mention we ordered too much food? The gyro was perfect, with delicious lamb. The lamb dish came with an amazing gravy and such tender potato wedges. Everything was perfection. I'd eat here over and over again!
The best domades I've ever eaten! Everything was authentic and delicious, and the service was fantastic.
