Athenian Owl - Jacksonville - Photo album

This place was amazing. The owner and servers were so friendly. I tried the Greek coffee Which was nice and strong. We shared the lamb shank, lemon chicken soup and the house-made bread. The lamb had an amazing flavor and felt like a healthier option. I want to come back and try the baklava cheeseca
We were passing through Jacksonville and stopped in for a quick dinner. This friendly little spot was the perfect place for our dinner. They have several Greek wines to choose from and the server described them accurately. They are able to make certain dishes GF and vegan. I had the chicken souvlak
This is definitely the place for authentic Greek food! The grilled octopus was nice and tender. I also had the veal Riganato and the veal was so tender and delicious! The mushrooms in the lemon-caper sauce just put the dish over the top. For dessert, I had the baklava and it was perfectly sweet, lig
It doesn’t get anymore Authentic Greek than this place. Family owned and operated. Owner are so caring and super client driven. Their chicken lemon rice soup is DIVINE as so is the rest of their food. A must visit! Highly recommended.
Our first visit at Athenian Owl was getting a snack to-go last week. Not only was the food noteworthy but George also made us feel welcomed and that's why we doubled back next week and vowed to get lunch. Entrees are a good size and come with soup or salad, plus they give you bread and olive oil at
First time visitors. We ordered the Moussaka with a bowl of avgolemono (a lemon chicken and rice soup) and a gyro with fries. Food was very flavorful and was *clearly* made by hand, just as though it would have been cooked at home. We will definitely be regulars here!
Warm lovely family owned spot. It came highly recommended to us and…discovered for GOOD reason. Lunch was fresh, healthy and delicious. We shared a generous Greek-salad & Spanakopita. The bread they shared to table was dangerously delicious too. 😋 YUM
Finally tried this restaurant and was completely satisfied....excellent service. The octopus was grilled to perfection. The lamb was tender and spinach sautéed with garlic was very flavorful.
First of all, the service was amazing. I've never been in a restaurant where I felt like family walking in. Such wonderful service from everyone. Also, so much food. You are started with bread and oil for dipping. We then ordered gyro and lamb dishes, which came with soup or salad, so we did one of
The best domades I've ever eaten! Everything was authentic and delicious, and the service was fantastic.
Very wonderful & authentic experience! The hostess got us a table for 4 right away without a reservation on a Friday night. Had the most delicious roasted lamb pita sandwich! My husband the beef souvlaki, he loved it. Fresh wonderful ingredients. I would not order the pasta with Greek meatsauce for
Service and atmosphere are second to none!!!! They give you soup or salad and bread with dipping sauce before your meal and true to Greek culture, they fill you to the brim before you can leave! The staff truly care about each and every customer and the owner came to check on us at least a dozen tim
Dined here for the first time for dinner on a Friday night it was wonderful! All of the staff are very friendly and welcoming and the food was delicious! The prices were really good considering it includes bread and a soup or salad. I will definitely return!
Great experience! We ordered to go but the staff was very friendly and attentive. Tried the gyro and the hummus spread. The pita, meat, and hummus all had a great flavor and tasted fresh.
I can't say enough nice things about this charming eatery. The service was excellent and even though there were several large parties in the restaurant we didn't have to wait long to be seeded or to receive our appetizers. Our waiter had a great personality and gave us some very good recommendation
What can I say, but superb service and excellent food. We were greeted as soon as we walked through the door. The owner is so sweet and gracious to his customers. We ordered gyros, lentil soup, lemon chicken rice soup, and baklava. We only waited for about 15mins and while we waited we were offered
If you're looking for authentic Greek food while in Jacksonville, this restaurant is a must; no need to go anywhere else. My wife Athena and I were in town for an appointment at Mayo and we ate here two nights in a row and whenever we're in Jacksonville. Food is consistently amazing, service equally
Happy to say this place is great, its just a homey cozy feeling being inside. Super friendly staff, just a great atmosphere. Prices aren't ridiculous either. I found this place a while back while on a lunch break for work and continue to go back. Love this place.
