This place is great! Been here 2 times now. Both times the food was amazing and even better, the staff was beyond nice and welcoming. If you’ve never tried Central American Cuisine before I’d recommend this place to anyone I know. Keep it up I’ll be back soon!
Tried out a great, new restaurant in Jacksonville named "JD's Caribbean Cuisine" located on Western Blvd across from the Mall. Met the very nice owners, Delroy & Melissa Archer, who are from Guyana & Trinidad. This business is Veteran-owned (Delroy served in the USMC). We had the curry shrimp with rice and plantains, jerk chicken, and chicken and beef patties. The food was excellent and extremely flavorful! I highly recommend trying this unique restaurant and give it a high rating for quality of food, service, friendliness and cleanliness! Hours of business are Mon-Thur, 11-8; Fri-Sat, 11-9.
JD's Caribbean Cuisine is a colorful and aromatic treat. My nose was tantalized by a mix of tropical scents. I could just stand the counter a smell the kitchen for hours.
I tried the jerk chicken with curried potatoes wrapped in roti with pineapple/ginger juice to drink. Simply delicious. The staff was very nice.
I'll definitely be returning to sample more of the menu. Do beware of bone slivers in your meat. Otherwise the visit was wonderful. Highly recommended
Everything here taste amazing and it is so clean here and they are up to date with the social distancing. I would highly recommend coming here!! The Jerk chicken is to die for and it’s well seasoned, the rice and peas is cooked just right and don’t even get me started on the macaroni and cheese 😩😩 omg!! It’s AMAZING
The food here is amazing and the service is great. The only thing I would change is the amount of plantains they give. Definitely not enough. Besides that I have no complainrs my favorite thing here is the Ox tail.
my favorite Jamaican food spot, I live in Virginia but every time I come to Jacksonville North Carolina I have to stop by because the food has too much flavor and is delicious, very clean environment and very friendly people!
When we're out running the roads doing Cracked It Escape Games business we love stopping to our locally owned businesses. JD's Carribean Cuisine on Western Blvd is amazing and authentic. Jerk chicken, peas and rice, meat patty and incredible slaw. Match that with house made pepper sauces, you will not be disappointed.

The entire place was well cleaned and maintained. Very friendly staff who cultivate a friendly and inviting environment. All of this great, but let’s talk food. I got the jerk chicken, rice with peas, and fried plantains. I had a coconut water with the raisin rum cake, as well. It was a journey from beginning to end. All of the powerful flavors going together was amazing. If you are ever in the need for some clean, filling, comfort food, this is your place. I’ll be coming back here for a long time to come.
