Great food and great Greek margaritas! Loved chatting with MP. Will be back!
Best Octopus salad I've eaten. I spend a lot of time in Tarpon Springs FL, which is all Greek and I couldn't even find it as good there.
Charming decor, outstanding service and food that will make you want to come back time and time again. My mother and I stopped in for lunch while passing through the area. Our timing was fortunate as we were treated to service by none other than Chef Michael Psilakis himself. He gave a beautiful description of how the lamb shank was prepared and sold me on the dish. All in all we had a 10/10 experience and can't wait to return with more of our family to enjoy another delightful dining experience.
We enjoyed our dinner very much at MP Taverna. We started with the crispy calamari and artichokes, shrimp & tzatziki and I must say the portions were HUGE! Dinner included delicious wine, sangria, lobster risotto and lemon chicken.
Unfortunately there were no dessert options, just complimentary cannolis.
We had Daniel as our waiter and he was great! Attentive and helpful with suggestions.
The Mango Margaritas were just simply delicious!
Always a solid, honest food, done right, without shortcuts. When we visited, chef Michael Psilakis was in the kitchen cooking, and he came out and greeted diners. Nice to see the chef actually being at his namesake restaurant and cooking for people. The fresh ingredients really shine here at MP taverna. Grilled fish dishes are the most delicious, more so than the other popular dishes like pastas. I always get the sea bream or Dorado, sardines and eggplant meze. Daily soups are very good, too.
Staffs are friendly and courteous. Greek wines go well with the food. I come up from NYC to eat his food. Kudos for being consistent and not compromising.
We love Greek food and chose to have Saturday lunch in here. Food was delicious! Everything was fresh & tasted SO good and it didn't take very long to get our food. Eggplant dip and grilled octopus are must haves for appetizers.
Overall, the atmosphere was nice and chill & the employees were very friendly.
My husband and I went to MP Taverna tonight for our anniversary and it was OUTSTANDING. The food was so tasty, the portions were huge, and our server, Sylvia, was incredibly knowledgeable, helpful, personable and friendly. We shared the crispy artichoke hearts which came with (the most amazing) crispy fries, and then for the main course we had the seafood paella and the lobster risotto. Everything was incredible and I highly recommend MP Taverna. We will definitely be back, next time with our friends.
The service was good, all the guys were gentle. The ambience is very calm and familiar. The location is a little hidden but it is surprisingly cozy inside. It is located just close to the Hudson river. Large parking in the front. The food is great itself and I think putting more main courses and a dessert list would be the improvement they need.
We enjoy eating at the bar, as we meet people and have a better dining experience, Food and atmosphere was buzzing. We had Greek Margaritas and they were really good to start. meatball appetizer was excellent. I had a Greek salad w Amish chicken, excellent and my wife Julie had Swordfish which was also equally good. no desserts for us. we met owner and chef, Mike. nice guy and Emanuel the Mgr. the whole experience was great and you should go to MP Taverna as it is near the water.

The MP Taverna is a top quality Greek style cuisine that will undoubtedly provide guests with superbly made dishes and first class service.
In October of 2022, I brought and treated my wife and myself for dinner at MP Taverna and we thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience!!!
Both my wife and I were pleasantly welcomed by the restaurant’s staff, and we were quickly provided with a table. Our waiter, Kaileen M. was very courteous. He did a great job on addressing our menu inquiries, regularly offered further assistance, and routinely checked with us to see if we enjoyed our meals.
In addition to the great service, my wife & I were also impressed with MP Taverna’s relaxed ambiance, its stellar interior decoration and its playing of smooth contemporary R&B music. Those features played a big part on providing us with a very comforting and enjoyable dining experience.
Last but certainly not least, my wife and I absolutely loved our meal. On a scale of 1 to 10, our grades were “Infinity & Beyond.” It was very well cooked, distinctly seasoned and positively mouth watering delicious. My wife had a superbly made chicken based entree, while I had a wonderfully made Lamb burger based meal. It was perfect all the way!!!
Another important item to point out about MP Taverna is its location. Guests that are commuting by car will have access to a nearby amble size parking lot and which is free of charge on weekends. For those traveling by train, I recommend that you hop on the Metro North Hudson River line. The restaurant is a few feet away from the Irvington railroad station. MP Taverna is also located right near the Hudson River and great quality gift shops.
So if you are looking to relax, have a great meal at a high quality Mediterranean restaurant in a beautiful Hudson riverside community, and where you’ll get to see scenic views of the Hudson River & NYC skyline, then you must definitely visit and dine at MP Taverna!!!
