Great authentic Mexican restaurant. Others who don't like this place prob like Taco Bell & think authentic.
Gotta have the Pancho's Burrito (steak!) it is awesome and huge. Strip steak meat here, not ground beef. Also they have Hor Chada to drink which is phenomenal!! Tacos are authentic and great (if u don't like chorizo u better tell them to leave off).
AAA+++ Best of Indy imho

Not TexMex - A great Mexican lunch. Now, I'm not well travelled enough (though I aspire to be) that I know if this restaurant is "authentic" for some region south of the border. However, I will say that Pancho's serves very tasty food that is not your everyday Tex Mex or Americanized Mexican food. For example, the Pastor is some very flavorful pork combined with mango. The ground beef is cut with diced potatoes which seems to cut back on the grease; try these with the pickled carrots from the salsa bar!

The salsa bar has a nice selection, though I didn't find their hotter salsas to really be all that hot. The green yucatan salsa is a nice pairing with the excellent fish taco, which comes very crisp and with great flavor. The standard chip dip salsa is great for chips, which come fresh fried hot - which may be a turn off for those used to chips out of the bag, but I love them. Sometimes I order a chips side and a taco though the menu doesn't include a standard combo like that. Also, there is plenty of peppers, cilantro (good for fish taco), and radishes and pickled carrots for sides or additions.

The lunch combos come with a drink (more on that below), rice and beans and usually a little salad with crema, nice but what can you say about a side?

I've frequently had the mole enchilada entree which you can get with any of their meats - which run the gamut from the regular, chicken, ground beef, pork, to the exotic, tongue, tripe, and head, which I may get up the guts, no pun intended, to dig into one of these days. The taco combo is good too and Mondays there's $1 tacos of some of the tamer variety, but I usually splurge on a Fish taco.

And saving one of the best features for last, this is one of the few Mexican restaurants, certainly for a quick lunch, that serves fresh homemade horchata. You can get a glass full to the absolute brim as your drink with any of the lunch combos. I recommend a straw since some of the ingredients tend to settle in the bottom.

I highly recommend stopping by for lunch to give it a try. Come winter I'm looking forward to trying their menudo, I'll try to update as I sample more of their great dishes.

Awesome. The bad reviews are nuts!. Best in this part of Indy. Quality and somewhat authentic options. Go here. Watch football. Enjoy.

Great Tacos. I stopped by today and had a few tacos for lunch. Buche, Lengua, Cabeza, al Pastor... all were delicious. I've had a little difficulty finding a good taqueria here in Indy, but this place is very nice, very clean, and the salsas are all great. It's also pretty cheap, though not as cheap as taco trucks I've found in other cities, but hey, you get a nice place to sit for the extra money and a soccer game to watch on TV.

Having lived in the Southwest this place is as close to "authentic" as I've found in the Northside. The food can be a little pricey but this place is the closest to "real" Mexican flavors. Not the bland stuff other restaurants in the area claim to be. The meat has flavor and a little spice. There is a salsa bar with a variety of chices ranging from mild to hot. The beans can be a little watery -but they have that homemade flavor that I haven't gotten since moving to Indiana. Plus they are busy and the caveat is there are Mexicans that eat there too...so it must be good!

Best Mexican In Town!. This little Mexican place has some of the best Mexican food in town. It can get a little pricey, but the quality is worth it. Call ahead orders can save you some time because certain times of day the wait for food can be lengthy. The queso is great, but is a bit watery. If you want thicker queso, order the one with meat in it.

The salsa bar can be questionable sometimes if it's been busy but otherwise has a great selection of salsa and toppings for food. The habenero salsa is fantastic, and the pico de gallo is delicious. For those wanting smaller portions, the kid's menu offers small portions for a great price.

If you love spicy and authentic Mexican food, this is the place to go.

I went here to try their $2 tacos on Mondays and ready to be disappointed but I’m happy to be proven wrong. The shredded chicken is so good and my wife said that the shredded beef is even better than the chicken. I’ll definitely come back again and try the other items.

Pancho’s is just as good as I remembered it 15 years ago. Still the same gentleman at the counter. Still the same salsa bar. Still the same XXXHabanera salsa, my favorite. Maybe the prices have gone up a dollar or two but other than that, nothing has changed.

The food tasted better than it looked, but was not amazing. Reasonable prices. The salsas were pretty good. The place was packed for a random Monday. They must be doing something very right. I don't know if I'll be back or not, but I wouldn't say no if someone suggested it.

Authentic, tasty and plentiful Taqueria Mexican restaurant on the NE side. Happy alternative than having to travel to the westside for great tacos. Enjoyed the $9.99 lunch menu options and the fresh condiment bar. Lunch time was bustling with gastrically content customers. Give this place a try!

FINALLY A GREAT MEXICAN MEAL in this city. Moved to the area 3 years ago, tried countless Mexican restaurants and was consistently disappointed until I ate at Panchos tonight. No frills authentic Mexican place. It’s an order at the counter load your own sauces at a salsa cart, sit and enjoy. Had azada tacos, taste, price, cleanliness and friendliness all 10/10. If you like authentic Mexican this should be your go to place. It doesn’t disappoint.

You can tell this place is authentic. Very clean inside. Food was great, and the self-serv toppings/sauces area is awesome. The guy working the register was super friendly as well. Highly recommend this place!

Some friends recommended this place, and it's so good! We had chips & queso and 4 different tacos: asada, pescado, chorizo, pastor. Recommend them all. I'd love to go back for a lunch special sometime.

Some of the best tacos I’ve ever had and I’ve loved in Texas for years before moving to Indy, as well as been to Mexico many times. That all I usually get here and they know me well.

2022 Oct Packed on Mondays: Taco Mondays. Specials on Authentic Tacos: Shredded Beef, Ground Beef, Chicken, Shredded Pork for $2 Sour Cream, Cheese additional charge Reg Prices but they have delicious Lengua, Tripe, etc. Best courtesy topping bar I have ever seen. 2021: Authentic food. Large group dining possible. My favorite is the spicy fish dish called Vagre al a Diabla/Diablo. Corn tortilla wraps come with it to make your own fish tacos. It is always too much for me to eat in one sitting. My brother had it as leftovers the next day and found it to be absolutely delicious! Friends ordered tripe tacos, pastoral tacos, beef tacos....all of them are not from here (Canada, New Jersey, Texas, New York, California respectively) They all really loved them and were very happy to find this place comparable if not better than back in their hometowns. Different heat levels of salsas and condiments can be added at your convenience from a "help - yourself bar". Refillable fountain drinks available as well as Mexican beer in bottles.
