Amazing food that is an explosion of flavors. Mark is the general manager that made you feel so welcome from the moment you stepped in. Jess was a server with knowledge of the menu that you trusted with recommendations. The best moment was meeting the guru chef Rachel who gave us a moment of euphoria with her menu of authentic but flavor filled food. Rachel thank you for your time with the table along with the amazing desserts! This is definitely Mexican done right!
A really cool and comfortable small restaurant. The service staff was fantastic! They were all helpful, courteous, cheerful and knowledgeable. I would single out Sarah as exceptional. I sat outside on there covered patio and it was perfect. I should give a 4.5* because I really didn't think my appetizer was worth the money. It was advertised as a south of the border shrimp cocktail. While it was sweet and delitious, I had to hunt really hard to find the very tiny pieces of shrimp. There not enough pieces to fill the cocktail spoon. Nevertheless I really enjoyed myself and will definitely go back when I have a bigger appetite to have an entree and enjoy the ambiance!
I typically don't order tacos because I often find them to be quite similar across different Mexican restaurants. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the tacos at this place. They are absolutely not to be missed – they are incredibly delicious, please do try the fried fish and shrimp! I also really enjoyed the relaxed and welcoming atmosphere here.
First time I'd been to Festiva and absolutely fell in love with its atmosphere and food! Their seasonal margarita was watermelon serrano and with a mezcal floater was absolutely phenomenal 🤤 Was with friends and had an opportunity to try a variety of menu items, favorites being the elotes (also seasonal but covered in...Takis!) and baja fish tacos. If the weather is nice like when I was there, I would absolutely recommend sitting on their covered patio, though service seemed to be a bit slower for the outside tables. Either way would highly recommend this place that deservingly is ranked as one of Indy's top restaurants!
Nothing like we expected. We are first-time visitors to Indianapolis here for business and several local friends suggested Festiva. It was way better and more fun than expected. It is like a funky hole-in-the-wall serving creative Mexican fare. We actually own a restaurant in Mexico and we surely loved this visit, the food and the folks!
Miriam the hostess and manager was a gem. She our new best friend! Along with bartenders Russ and Justin, we had a grand time! We sat at one of the bar windows. We had chip, two kinds of salsa and guacamole for openers (and yes...definitely one of the best and most unique guacamoles we have ever had!). My wife ordered the masa and guisano. I had the shredded beef enchiladas and a side order of papas and rajas (potatoes and sweet chili peppers). They were excellent and we couldn't finish the portions!
Russ and Justin kept us hydrated! Russ made me (honest!) the best paloma with mescal that I have ever had (remember we live in Mexico and have our own bar and restaurant!). My wife had some excellent skinny margaritas. We had so much fun, we bought the whole staff and round of tequila and mescal shots with us.
Wish we lived closer. This would be our new go-to-hangout. Thanks for the great evening and experience, folks! Can't wait to come back!
My top pick for overall best Mexican restaurant in Indy. Great vibes, friendly staff, and most importantly amazing food. The Al pastor tacos are so yummy. I don’t think I could ever get sick of them. Plus they also have a very good cocktail menu. Can’t beat it!
This place was so fire!!!! The food TASTY the Drinks YASSSS the atmosphere PERFFF and the staff even greater. Attended during devour because Ive never been but I am coming back for more this place was so good. I got the pork tacos and shrimp tacos very flavorful.
After such a long time I finally stopped by to eat. I had really high expectations and I don't think it met them.
The good - nice place, very cozy, clean, and as my friend put it "very cute". Service was great, even though we didn't have a reservation we were able to get seats. I would definitely recommend reservation, they did mention they get busy, patio will be opening up soon so that's nice.
The margaritas were really good! We had the guacamole, it had a really nice kick of spicy plus the pomegranate gave it a nice sweet touch. The Tacos Al Pastor were good and so was the carne asada, the meat was well seasoned. It was also the first time I tried a chocolate flan and I really liked it, great consistency.
The bad - the portion of the carne asada was a lot smaller then it looked in pictures. The potatoes were okay, nothing special. The rice was okay, a little dry.
Overall it was a good restaurant, I'll definitely be back and try other items on the menu.
SO GOOD. Delicious Mexican food. You have to get the Tostadas de Atun if they have them. They do have a kick, but VERY flavorful. Everyone here was very friendly, helpful, and chipper!
Excellent upscale Mexican restaurant. The costillas used to be my favorite, but I think they changed the recipe and it's a bit too sweet for my taste now (used to be a spicy dry rub). Recently discovered they do brunch too and got the Mexican eggs Benedict (pictured) which was great. Cute little restaurant and serving staff is always attentive
First time visit. What a vibe this place is! Sure wish I would have visited sooner. The food is authentic and of high quality, the margarita was literally the best I've ever had EVER. And the service was outstanding. Can't wait to return!
Went for Devour Indy and LOVED IT! Margarita while it's snowing? Make that TWO! Shrimp tacos that taste like . . . actual shrimp (plus more deliciousness). Goodness gracious guacamole! And, ok, I'm not a big fan of mole, but I tried his and it was not bad. Might be great if tasted by anyone who knows. Will happily put this on our "Return To" list!
