I am quite pleased that the powers that be chose to preserve this beautiful railroad terminal! Formerly served by 3 main railroads: Santa Fe, Rock Island and Burlington. The freight yard, operated by Houston Belt and Terminal, was just across the street, bordered by Crawford between Prairie and Preston.
Our company had a charity gala at the Union Station, and we had a blast!! The venue was big enough for our event, and it felt like an intimate setting. The heavy hors d'oeuvres were a hit at the gala, and the menu included cheeseburgers, bruschetta, pecan pies, chicken, etc. The servers were friendly, and they allowed me to eat after the food was put away in the kitchen. The open bar allowed my colleagues to really have a good time! Thanks again for the hospitality and beautiful venue.
The way Union Station was incorporated in the Houston Astros Ballpark is a nice piece of architecture. And it may remind us, that Houston once was a hub for railways, in a time where high speed train lines in Texas are in controversial discussions.
The atmosphere and the historic feeling. Fsmilies are welcome! Food is good ☆ beers pricey.
Visited the Astros team store. Always organized and the special events are always well organized.
