BLACK OWNED BUSINESSES!
Ms. Ronnie is throwing down in that kitchen!!!! Her food is TOO GOOD!! If you closed your eyes and ate, you'd swear you were in Louisiana. The daiquiris are LETHAL, especially if you get the Long Island one. Customer service was top notch as well, the owner is such a cool guy. You've got to try it out!!!
And they have a awesome rewards program. I already get a free bowl of gumbo on my next visit!
I ordered the fried catfish and shrimp and sweet potato fries were on point . Very crispy and just the right taste. I like it stupid hot so just ask for Louisiana hot sauce if you need that kick. … beans n rice were on point , with sausage and ground beef and all the spices that made it all nicest ….. don’t for get to grab A Daiquiri!!! They are crazy LA hurricane strong !!!!!!!
I had been craving some good fried catfish and had heard good things about this place, so I decided to give it a shot.
The catfish was AMAZING!! And the tartar sauce was truly homemade and had a wonderful herbiness to it!!
The shrimp were also good, if a bit over cooked. The fries are large, hand-cut and seasoned very nicely.
A few reviews mentioned the saltiness of the food, I did not find this to be the case. All good food, especially fried southern food, must be well seasoned - which was the case here.
Placed my order online - and it did take longer than the estimated time, but not that big a deal for hot, fresh good food!
Hoping to try the famous pasta and the gumbo on a future visit.
The service was impeccable, the food was great and will be returning soon.
Well true to my word I returned yesday and had a Fryday. Everything was as good as before. The owner was hands-on and gave friendly service
Delicious.. I love their catfish opelousas.. The fried shrimp on top are amazing. The batter is peppery but not too spicy. The dirty rice is also yummy and they add veggies to the platter as well. One of my favorite lunch spots in the area. Staff is friendly. I usually take half to go or I would be sleeping at work hahaha. They are pretty busy at lunch.
Absolute awesome food and service. Roni at the front counter was a delight to see and very knowledgeable of their menu. Jaime hooked it up in the back! Food didn’t take very long to come out and was EXTREMELY FRESH AND FLAVORFUL. They have a nice kick to the Étouffée. Definitely will be visiting again 🙃
The woman who was behind the counter also made our food, she was the most polite person i’ve ever encountered! She made us feel right at home & welcomed. It was extremely nice to talk to one of the men & get to know more about them & their restaurant while waiting on our food. Their catfish was THEE absolute BESSSSTT!!! Their bread was so fireeee & their fried shrimp too. We can’t wait to come back again!
I have been here more than a handful of times. I have had the east Texas hotlinks, which are a nostalgic treat for me. The gumbo was good, very good. I put the Crystal in it and aaahhhyyyeaah. I would definitely recommend it. I've also had the boudin and some people might find it a bit soft, bit the flavor was spot on with a saltine and a dab of hot sauce. Crawfish etouffee is is my favorite dish but there's was a bit thick. I like a bit thinner roux, but once again they never lack on flavor. The service is fine and the setting is a strip center, but they do play some good music to enjoy your lunch with. I recommend to give this spot a try. The food is good.
Saw them on Facebook and stopped in. Place had a down home Louisiana feel to it. I had my mind and stomach on some Crawfish Étouffée and was not disappointed.😊
The good flavorful food with decent sized portions for the price.
