This place is always packed from 10 till 2. No wonder, it has the best tortillas in town. Love the Carne Gusiada! You will love the hot salsa! The place has a very friendly atmosphere and feels like a family kitchen! I am on a mission to try every combination of breakfast burrito! Best breakfast in town!
Cozy, welcoming, and delicious Mexican restaurant in the Houston Chinatown area. Lots of seating available, walk up ordering, and lots of options to choose from. I tried breakfast tacos, as well as their menudo, and it was great. Pricer compared to what is typical for this kind of food, but great portions, and the service is extremely nice. Definitely a place to come back and try other dishes.
This is a excellent find! I’m a huge fan of authentic menudo. I’m constantly searching for restaurants that make the classic Mexican breakfast soup.
I can’t count how times I’ve gone to a restaurant to try what I’ve heard was excellent menudo only to be disappointed. It was either to greasy or to red or no hominy corn or to little tripe and mostly liquid.
This menudo was almost perfect (needs pigs feet) for perfect. Plenty of hominy & meat perfectly seasoned. My girlfriend had the beef fajitas with charro beans & rice. The fajitas were cooked perfectly, tender with excellent seasoning. The beans and rice tasted like Mama used to make. We loved the homemade flour tortillas.
Tejas doesn’t have a huge menu but that just means they know what they’re customers like and they concentrate on doing what they offer the best possible way with a great price point.
I highly recommend Tejas Taco House.

I recently visited Tejas Taco House, a popular breakfast taco place located in the heart of the city. I was in the area doing some work on my laptop and needed a place to recharge, so I decided to give Tejas Taco House a try.
From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The staff greeted me with a smile and were more than happy to let me charge my laptop while I enjoyed my meal.
Speaking of the meal, the breakfast tacos at Tejas Taco House were simply delicious. I ordered a few different varieties and was blown away by the quality and flavor of each one. The ingredients were fresh and the tacos were cooked to perfection.
Overall, I had a great experience at Tejas Taco House. Not only did they provide me with a convenient place to work and recharge, but they also served up some of the best breakfast tacos I've ever had. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a tasty meal in a friendly and welcoming environment.
Some of the best breakfast tacos I’ve had!! The tortillas remind me of the ones my mom made when I was little. Fresh and delicious. The tacos are not skimpy at all. The potatoes are perfect, to me, and the egg and bacon are delicious too. The staff was also very friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere was chill let’s eat! Will definitely be back!!
The food was great and will be coming back. Now the service it is pretty much self-service. There is no waitress. Atmosphere, it feels like you are at home is also very clean. 👌
I'd been wanting to try this place and man it did not disappoint. The breakfast tacos are like the ones grandma used to make: homemade flour tortillas packed with love. The menudo was so good. Do yourself a favor and stop on by.
Awesome tacos, some of the best in the city. The tortilla tasted homemade, from-scratch. The ingredients were all great also. Ate the refried beans later in the day which I rarely do.
They have some funny tshirts for sale also.
Staff was friendly.

I've came to this restaurant ever since I was a child and I highly recommend this place. I highly recommend the chorizo and egg, and egg and cheese taquitos - and their customer service is great.
This place was more then what I expected! Took my daughter here for a small breakfast and the breakfast was delicious! Tacos were filling for my daughter. The food came out quick. Portions are spot on. I ordered the chilaquiles with beef fajita added and it was yummy. If I ever come back on this side of town for good Mexican food, I’ll be coming here again 👍🏽
I only tried the chorizo bean and cheese and bacon breakfast tacos and they're awesome. I've been going back for more.
