IKEA Wow!

Quite the excursion - could have spent more time here as there was so much to see. Delicious meals in the cafeteria - definitely recommend the meatballs. So many great household items & decent prices.

Quick, easy and cheap, and has many healthy options! Really can't complaint at all. We have enjoyed coming here for years with our family.

The tricky thing about having multiple kids is, if I buy one of anything, I usually have to buy three.  (And soon I’ll have to buy four!)  Something that seems reasonably priced is suddenly expensive when multiplied by three. And this is why I like the IKEA Restaurant.  Kids meals are only $2.49 each, every day!

Came in to have breakfast before the shopping spree for furniture haha.
Good food for the price, I had the small breakfast and I'm satisfied. The other members of my family ordered the Swedish breakfast, a little bigger than mine but kind of the same thing except for the pancakes.
The cashier was a bit unkind, but other than that, the service was good.

Time to go for furniture!

IKEA has become an every other month stop for my wife and I and we've eaten at the restaurant due to its convenience and quickness almost every time. To which I have to say the majority of the food I've had there is bland, however their Marinated Salmon Wrap is really good and my go to when eating at IKEA.

IKEAAAAAAA. IKEA was a destination for my husband and me on vacation recently and so of course we had to eat here to complete the experience. It was quick to get in and out of, cheap, environmentally friendly, and tasty. He had the meatballs, which had a good sausage-y flavor if they were a little spongy, and I had the chicken tenders and fries. Both were obviously frozen and re-fried there, but they were still good for how cheap it was. The chocolate layer cake was amazing. Will definitely load down on food next time we're there shopping.

Wish it was a smorgasbord. This is a stylish little diner on the second floor of the big Ikea store. Besides the usual tables there's an area set up that looks like it's decorated with tables and chairs and linens from the store. It's cafeteria style, not a buffet/smorgasbord; some items are serve yourself, others are dished out by servers. There's some Italian stuff, some American, only a couple of items that could be identified as Scandinavian fare, which is a shame. Prices are very reasonable.

I tried the gravad lax, a traditional Swedish smoked salmon dish, with a mustard sauce and greens. A sunflower seed roll and lingonberry juice drink were extra but it all came to only $6 plus tax. Not haute cuisine but I thought it was a good meal for the price and I have to say the sandwiches, panini style, I think, being eaten by the couple at the next table looked awfully good, too.

They also have specials during the year including a traditional Swedish Easter smorgasbord and a traditional Swedish crayfish (crawfish) party in August for more of a taste of Scandinavian fare which we have little of here in Houston.

There's a store downstairs, past the check out lanes, where you can buy other Swedish goodies and also a snack bar with hot dogs, pretzels, etc. They try to force you to take the entire programmed tour of the store in order to find the exit but watch for the signs and take the short-cuts to save time if you're not furniture shopping.

The worst part of the experience is the humongous parking lot. Get ready for a long hike.

Shopping Timeout. We broke up our day at IKEA with a meal in their upstairs cafe. It was decent food at a great price. They could've used another girl behind the line, but other than that, no complaints. A nice variety menu. Thought about ordering their famous Swedish meatballs but opted for a bowl of soup and garlic bread instead. My wife had the penne pasta. Almond cake for dessert. All good. Would go back.

This is a great place to have lunch. The price is right and they have a good variety of items available. I love the Swedish meatballs and gravy with a choice of two vegetables and of course ligonberry juice. The desserts are always good. Chocolate hazelnut cake is one of my favorites!

My mom and I went here ...... and was here for 5 hours. Holy smokes! There is so much to see.... The food is good... Clean organized. Cute stuff. I think knives and utensils were pricey but.. other stuff I think was reasonable. .....they do have stainless steel pots and pans but you have to read them.... The staff helped my mom also find her keys (at the end we lost them) 🤣🤣🤣

This review strictly covers only the Christmas dinner event offered by the restaurant. I don't see any mention online about this location so Im posting here. As a aside, I did hear offhand that breakfast is 2.99 for a small or 4.99 for a large. This is a ticket only event offered right after Thanksgiving at the restaurant only. Tickets are 19.99 or 16.99 if you are a IKEA family member. I went to the 630pm to 800 time. There is a earlier slot for 430 pm to 6. We waited outside while the staff are preparing the food and dining area. They will give you a colored wristband to identify who is participating in the event. Food is obtained by the usual cafeteria style method. Hot items are served in the back of the restaurant by staff. Some items are grouped together on a platter such as desserts and the smaller meat and egg items. For example, the gravalax is served with the herring. The ham is more of salty meaty ham. In fact one of the few items that had plenty of salt. Rest of the items are more subtle in their taste. A lot of the items are just stuff reheated, defrosted, or opened from the food store below. Still good though. The highlight of the meal are the whole filets of smoked and poached salmon topped with sliced cucumber. Soft drinks are just soda, diet soda, and the fizzy berry drink. I did like glogg. It was a sweet herbal drink. There is some festive decor on the tables and the wall and are pretty nice. They also had expat kids sing some songs. That was nice. I enjoyed the event, well worth if you have the time.

This is one of the best places to have a leisurely meal in Houston. Their food tastes like it is a gourmet offering but they charge you fast food restaurant prices. Maybe not to to everyones liking but I always enjoy the meal here. Sometimes I just come here for coffee and dessert when passing by.

I love shopping at IKEA. So I love eating these exotic foreign labeled foods at IKEA Restaurants on Katy Freeway in Houston. I never been to any other IKEA restaurants. Therefore, I can't compare. I really like the consistency of customer service. The food is always fresh and seems better quality. It's the best fast food restaurant in this block. They feature healthy dishes and very reasonable prices. I just wish they had a drive thru. It takes over 10 minutes from entering the parking lot to get to IKEA Restaurant.

Ikea is always a great stop for a quick, affordable, fresh, vegan spot! We love any chance we get to (of course, shop!) but enjoy grabbing a delicious plate! Vegan Options -Veggie Balls, full vegan, you don't have to ask for changes. -*Plant Balls - the plate shows there is milk. This is because of the gravy & mashed potatoes. -French Fries ----We prefer the PLANT BALLS (vegan) with the Veggie Ball Plate. Hopefully, that makes sense. Dine-In experience is always great for us; always clean, available seating, great self-serve section. Beautiful views almost anywhere in the seating area. Only negative: Due to the pandemic, no self-serve beverages. We freak'n loved their tea! Def missed that! (totally understand, though) ***As for the Veggie/Plant Balls, you can purchase them frozen on the first floor. Def recommend. COVID Notes -Indoor seating is available -Social distance & masks are not required. Staff wore masks. -Customer service was delightful, safe, and helpful -Ordering was effortless & smooth -No self-serving beverages are available. -No issues at all. Thank you, Ikea Restaurant, for delicious Vegan Options!

This is the first time we took our family to IKEA in Houston, TX. We have been to other IKEAs in the world and the food were always good. So we were excited when we got here. Sadly, the outcome was quite disappointing. The food was not appetizing at all. They look like they came straight out of the cans. The food were too overpriced for its quality. How can such an awesome furniture store offer such mediocre food? We love everything else in the store though. Fortunately, we ate all the green peas.

You know what it is! Cheap and tasty Swedish food to eat while you're lost trying to find your way out of the ikea consumerism maze. Great place!

A decent light meal for the price. Get a good variety of nutrients that doesn't make you feel sluggish. I recommend the swedish meatballs plate. The lingoberry jam surprisingly pairs well with meal.
