It feels like a glass tree house with chandeliers and french provencial chairs mixed in. I wore shorts and flip flops. The menu is great and food is great. My new happy place. We went on a Sunday morning at 9am. At 11am there was a long line.
Beautiful venue, excellent service, food was amazing & great cocktail wine pricing! Highly recommend. We went for the Moët Ice Soriee - great experience! We will be back!

Ate here for lunch with my family while in Houston. I had the Poke bowl which was fantastic and all the food my family had was very reasonably priced. We sat on the patio which has a great setting in the middle of the Buffalo Bayou. Overall the food was good and reasonably priced at lunch (since this place looks to be a fancy restaurant the dinner prices might be higher), and it has a great location and atmosphere.
The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. The service was outstanding and went alive and beyond for me and my party. The atmosphere was sublime, almost dreamy. My first visit to The Kitchen at the Dunlavy will certainly not be my last. Excellent experience. Highly recommended.
Houston spring is upon us!! The fact that by February we are back to sunny skies and 70 degree weather is why I will never trade in my hometown for a fancier model. When the sun is shining I need to be out in the streets doing something and that generally includes eating. On a Friday earlier this month, my co-worker and I stopped by the Kitchen at the Dunlavy for a quick lunch at this beautiful venue.
Great place to bring friends visiting from out of town after a walk along the bayou. Dining is order up with breakfast, lunch, smoothies and coffee. Perfect location and great interior decorating.
We have a great breakfast/lunch place for you this week! We are lucky to live close to Buffalo Bayou and have really taken advantage of the new paths and other improvements along the bayou. So we have closely followed the construction of Lost Lake at Dunlavy and Allen Parkway, with ample parking, canoe launching pad, small lake and “The Dunlavy” restaurant, overlooking both the bayou and the lake.
A really good place for date night or just simply a night out. We went here and the valet was super attentive and was on point. Then the hostess I wish I got her name but she was very friendly and good at her job in my opinion. The servers and bar tenders all made the night special and the food was so good. I highly suggest to get whatever special they have going on at the time.
I came here for my birthday dinner- first time at Flora. Reservations were made so easily even after we called to add more people they were so patient. The entrance was confusing several from our party passed up the entrance. I know there was construction going on and that could have played a factor. Upon arrival they had valet parking which was so inexpensive. The scenery around is so calming and beautiful when you go inside man oh man it’s beautiful! And let me add the staff reflects the same inviting attitude. We were a party of 7- 4 of us had a cocktail, we had 4 different appetizers and for the most part all got different entrees. For the quality of the food and taste i was not mad at the $370 total. The staff was so attentive and it was such a great dinner.
The waiter was super nice & attentive. We got the fajitas 1lb, I feel like it definitely should’ve came with bigger portion of rice and beans, it made me wonder what the portion would be for 1/2lb.. overall the food was good; I loved the margarita.
The place is beautiful and was at capacity on a Saturday night. Drinks were great. Food was good. The garlic shrimp was a little too salty for me but still tasted yummy. We had the chocolate tart for a shared dessert and oh my gosh, was it amazing!

My husband and I split the sopa de fideo, flank steak fajitas and the green enchiladas!
Everything was delicious! For the green enchiladas I asked for extra green sauce and the waitress brought it out quickly and made them taste even better! I like my enchiladas soaked in sauce 🤪
The steak fajitas were also delicious the steak was tender and the corn tortillas were just like homemade. The sopa de fideo was different than what I am accustomed too since I have tasted it with a tomato base and this was more like a chicken stock base. (But still very tasty)
Our waitress was very attentive and she gave great service throughout!
The only reason I took off a one star for atmosphere is because the restrooms were very dirty.
The location is set in a beautiful atmosphere. Definitely a date night or nice dining experience for any kind of outing. The food was good and it is not Tex-Mex. It's more of a southern Mexico Flair. I would recommend getting any of the seafood dishes as well as the ceviche. The ceviche was a standout for me and my partner. we are not Ceviche lovers, but we wanted to try it and we were blown away by the flavor and taste. The drinks were craft and look pretty but the taste of the overall drink was lacking for myself and partner.

We love exploring places to eat and for today we have chosen Flora as an alternative lunch out. I ordered paella and my friend order chicken green mole.
Its a cozy place near the graveyard as you are surrounded by trees and a good view of Bayou. Food are expensive as compared to normal cost of the dishes they served here. For taste expectations, unsatisfied.
Will go back maybe for tea session as the place is cozy. With the taste and food experience I definitely wont go back.
First time here. I love the atmosphere. My plate and the cheese with nachos were delicious. I tried some fish, and it had a good flavor. On top of that, I think the waiter was nervous because he sometimes dropped things.
While getting a reservation wasn't difficult, I definitely recommend doing so--this place fills up fast, and for good reason. As others have noted, the location, views and overall ambiance set Flora apart. The restaurant feels very organically part of its surroundings. As well, the food is amazing. The ceviches, with their delicate mix of tang and heat, really stand out. The service is attentive without being overwhelming or rushed. Highly recommend.
Our first time here loved the food,ambience and service. The mini chalupas with caviar were delicious! We ordered the enchiladas and fish and we loved everything! We will definitely be back! Oh and the churros yum!
