What can I say other than I absolutely love this place. It is hard to find a restaurant that checks all the boxes when it comes to trying to eat healthier. Local has been able to help me in my health journey by having so many great healthier options. I really wish they had one in the woodlands I would go everyday.

Local Foods on Kirby quickly became my go-to when I moved to Houston a few years ago. I have loved basically everything I have gotten there. My favorite is the garden sammie with chicken… it’s maybe my favorite sandwich I’ve ever gotten. I get just as excited about their soups and sides as I do their sandwiches. You can even get a sandwich in salad form instead! Any person I’ve ever brought there has loved it too. Better yet, they have tons of options to accommodate food intolerances/allergies which helps me out a lot whole lot given I can’t eat dairy or eggs, and that normally limits me a lot. The service is always fantastic, and parking is so easy at this location. I avoid the Heights location just based on parking alone, but I have never had an issue at the Kirby location. Ordering online through the Toast app is a piece of cake too. I highly recommend!

The food is always fresh and delicious. So many interesting options. I had the Harvest Salad with chicken and it was amazing! Had to save room for my vegan carrot cake cupcake so I took some of my salad to go. Don't judge.... when I get the opportunity to have a good vegan dessert (that's not sorbet), I'm taking it!

The manager of this place should teach a class in hospitality- wow they know how to treat customers really well! The food was fantastic, it came out fast. Served excellent vegan food. Two workers told my daughter happy birthday and took time to speak with us. Super attentive and friendly. The atmosphere is gorgeous. Top notch place 10/10

I recently stopped here for a late ⏰ lunch around 2:30 pm. I’ve seen this place slammed packed 🧑‍💼👩‍💼👨🏾‍💼 so I decided to stop. No line, So I proceeded with my order of a Braised Beef Sandwich 🥪 with 2 orders of chips. The lady had the same with Mushroom 🍄 Soup 🥣 to accompany her Sandwich 🥪. I must say this is one of the most delectable 😋, mouth 👄 watering 🤤 sandwiches I have eaten in my life. R-C RANCH WAGYU, BACON, FRIED EGG, DAIRYMAIDS' GORGONZOLA, CARAMELIZED ONIONS, WATERCRESS, AIOLI, JALAPENO BUN. Taste 👅 Just as Good 👍🏾 as it Sounds. Flavors you can Savor as long as the Bun does! Tip( The Carrot Cake will make you want to shake your great great grandmother 👵)

I've been coming here for years and it's one of my favorite restaurants. Everything is fresh and flavorful. I've had a lot of dishes but my go to's are the Egg Salad Sandwich (on wheat because the pretzel bun does not agree with me) and the Taco Salad which by the way is vegan. My daughter was with me on this day and she ordered the Asian Salad with Tofu (subbed the chicken). They are very accommodating. The potato salad, kale salad, and chips are great sides. You really can't go wrong with anything here. Don't pass on dessert... chocolate chip cookies and carrot cupcake. The service and staff are great. Great ambiance with beautiful decor. Big outdoor space and dog friendly. Plenty of parking.

Great place to lunch and enjoy good vibes with friends. It’s located in Upper Kirby and shares the parking lot with Soul Cycle. What I like best about this place is the wine selection. The food is good (healthy food can be hit or miss sometimes). The menu notes the items that are vegan, gluten free, nut free—so pay close attention to that. Sandwich items can be turned into salads. The menu items are eclectic in my option and at first blush you may be inclined to not try a thing so ask for recommendations. I’ve been here a few times and haven’t been disappointed. Today I tried the shrimp and crab sandwich on the gluten free sourdough bread. Sandwich was good—not overly flavorful but still satisfying. The bread didn’t taste much like sourdough but I have no complaints. The chicken soup is top notch. Safe are friendly and attentive. The indoor and outdoor seating are both vibes. The places doesn’t accept cash so be mindful of that.
