Love this restaurant. Service is excellent. They come serve really quickly and add more food when you have eaten that particular item.
The best part about this restaurant is the bouquet of different flavors that fill your mouth. Some of these are very unique.
Highly recommended

This is a very down to earth and authentic Indian vegetarian place featuring cuisines from the western part of India. It's nothing fancy but the food is delicious, and it's quite an experience. All the dishes were serve in small portions, but you can't get as much refill as you can eat. So you always walk out well fed, and feeling good that no food is wasted. It's a great concept and I highly recommend it.

Sumptuous vegetarian food. It’ll remind you of the dining hall experience if you had it in India. The service and their urge to feed you is something you might not find it an expensive buffets / restaurants.

Near authentic food straight from india to Houston.
Impressed with the simple cooking and the selection took of servings.
Tables are well spaced and service is quick reminding one of the hospitality back in India.
Do call out any allergies in advance and they’ll serve alternatives.
Also make sure to arrive around the time they open on the weekends,if you want to avoid the queues.

I loved the lunch experience at the Maharaja Bhog. The food was delicious and authentic Indian flavors. This is a purely vegetarian all you can eat thali and some of the starters are truly amazing. Definitely on the higher price $$ for Indian buffets but in my opinion this was a fantastic lunch for the qualify and quantity of the food. Highly recommend this place if you're in the Houston area and are craving authentic Indian vegetarian food.

Magee was very friendly and nice. The Moment you sit down this army of service staff descends on you with different things to eat before you know your plate is full with so many options. Out of 4/5 servers that came to our table were very nice and courteous. One occasional one would be gruff and valued speed over courtesy. The food was for the most part average. Quality was good but bit greasy. I would recommend going back for the experience.

We finally got to try the famous Maharaja bhog for dinner in Houston. People are usually skeptical about vegetarian unlimited thalis but they have done it well. Good staff, eager and quick service. We were so hungry, the ghee rich dishes will fill you up quick. The rotis and pooris were fresh and most of the dishes were great. It would be unfair to compare it with these unlimited thalis in India but the price is about $24 per person is quite reasonable imo, just build up an appetite before you come. I would have hoped they had some more snacks/appetizers at the start and maybe one more dessert like a rasgulla or gulab jamun types. The service was great and I hope they will broaden their dish offerings in the future but it’s definitely worth it.

Vegetarian food. Authentic North Indian food. Food tasted good. Good service. But the price is hiked up.

Was visiting from Dallas and had heard a lot of good things about the food here. Happy to report it was totally true. Easily one of the best Thalis I have had in USA. Food was exceptional. Service was really good, they followed up multiple times and came and checked if we got what we wanted. Truly enjoyed this. They had kids option, which was pretty much same thing at slightly lower price.

Just love this place!!! Every time I visit Houston I make sure I visit this place. Simply amazing vegetarian food. I been here now for couple years now and the food never disappoints. You might have to wait longer on weekends but weekdays there’s almost no wait. I enjoyed everything on the plate but I dig the warm comforting khichdi with loads of ghee.. simple yet supremely delicious. Last but certainly not the least the Chass.. Can’t wait to visit next time.

Hands down one of the best meals I've had in Texas. Maharaja bhog offers a premium vegetarian unlimited thali. They have a set menu and you can get any number of servings of all the items in the menu. All items are served at the table. The taste was just amazing - we lost track of the number of times we asked for some of the items because they were addictive. A very tasty and enjoyable meal and totally worth the price.
I am still not able to give 5 stars mainly because of their crowd management which could be way better. On weekends the restaurant is extremely crowded which meant we had to wait outside for almost 30 minutes. It wasn't too hot but I can't imagine doing the wait during Texan summer. Given the high weekend crowd this restaurant gets, a waiting area would be great instead of having us stand outside for a long time. This is still understandable and I'm definitely not complaining for not having a waiting room- just a suggestion. What did not make us feel great were the staff. The staff were getting frustrated because of the big crowd and were being rude. While I understand that a huge crowd can be frustrating, it's not a great feeling to have a rude reception staff welcome us. Couple of waiters were also a bit rude and frustrated. Some of them were very sweet to us so big thanks to them. The manager also seemed frustrated.
So while Maharaja Bhog scored extremely well in their taste, they did lose a few points from my side for the rude staff.

Literally felt like I went to india and came back. The taste, the flavors and the service. Everything is literally 100/100.
This is my second time visiting Houston and my second time eating here. And it will not be the last time.
The manager / owner was extremely attentive to our needs! Highly recommend.

Awesome tasty, sweet and spicy food with over 30 dishes, served on your table by serve staff . Enjoyed yo the fullest every bit. If you care for service ( not bad though while they ask most items on your table, which restaurant they ask you like that?) than food, this place is not for you. Manager seem little rough just I feel it because he wants to make rooms for patrons are waiting on sun waiting for 30 minutes. Must visit for a special occasion.

Amazing service, ambiance and the food was absolutely incredible. I would highly recommend to ignore all the one star rating loosers as they don't know how good food tastes like or they must be special needs people. The owner/manager is very hospitable and the service staff is really nice. I would gladly drive 10 hours or fly to Houston just to eat here again.

Fantastic! I like thalis, but it turns out I had no idea how good they could be. This place runs dim sum-style, bringing a variety of dishes to your table, and serving it out like your grandma who thinks you’re too skinny. The menu changes daily. Try everything, it’s all delicious and interesting. These folks practice hospitality as a fine art.

Today I visited this resturent!! I don’t want even to give 1 star , I had my disabled kid with me , I mention about this to the person who was dealing with the queue . When I took my number , I was fifth in the line, I waited for my turn but they denied telling that you have a disabled kid and her wheelchair will take space so they allowed even 10 families which came after me , I waited for almost 1 hour 20 minutes to get a seat, if they could have followed the queue then I could have got in 30 minutes , or if the resturent would be disabled friendly then I could have got my seat in 15 minutes. I recommends my friend and families not to go to this resturent , this resturent should be removed from disabled friendly list !!

It's a must go restaurant for anyone visiting Houston and wanting to try authentic Rajasthani-gujrathi thali. The ambience is great and you are treated as royalty in here. Food is freshly made everyday and the service is outstanding. I can just describe everything in superlative.

Best breakfast in Houston hands down! If you are looking into exotic traditional Indian breakfast or lunch

Good food

Surprised to see good full Thali restaurant in Houston I enjoyed most items except few sweets Dal ka halwa was mix of oil and ghee They can improve on quality for sure

Fabulous food served with care. Nothing that I didn’t like but wish they could have added another sweet.

This is my second visit to this awesome restaurant. The taste is awesome. When cooked with love and dedication it transcends into food. The people who work here serve the meal as if you are guest at their home. An experience by itself

Not really sure if the food is worth the money we pay ! They can work on their taste and manners to improve and attract more customers. The food was bland despite asking specifically for spicy food. It could have been much better ! Had to wait so long for every item to be served, was really tiring

The place satiated my Indian food cravings. I went there at my semester ending and it was a perfect treat to myself. The place was a bit crowded. We waited for a while and then went it. The staff greeted us with a big smile. I kept stuffing myself afterwards. The food is authentic and matches the home quality food. The halwa was really tasty and was full of ghee. I liked paneer, rajma, khichdi and bashundi. The staff will keep feeding you. The owner asked if we were enjoying the food. We had dhokle as well. Its a bit expensive but totally worth it. They offer a range of variety in food. So overall its a must go place. Happy eating!! :)

Very bad management and mangers are very rude with customers as they are aware that people will come for sure, food is ok ok only in terms of taste. Will not recommend

An all you can eat with servers serving you at your table. Great place for vegans. Superb food. Typical Indian food with spices and aroma. A must try if you are in or around Houston.

Authentic Gujarati food
The taste ambience and service was very good
The cost however hurts you.
Overall the food is good but the prices are pretty high.

To be honest I am a hard core non veg.. This was my first visit to a fully veg restaurant.. Must say I am super impresses with the service and the food.. It was very crowded on a Saturday night but we didn't have to wait for more than 5mins.. The thali was mind blowing and delicious.. Special mention for the dahi vara.. Loved it.. Go n visit with ur family..

This indian thali is just delicious , heavy lunch or dinner but it is always worth it. For 23$ its a bit high priced for the thali because at that price one can have two meals. The taste is good with lot of variety in plate for you. Ambience is good so is the staff. Also the pan at the end of the meal is just like the cherry on the cake. Recommend you to try it once if you miss the indian food or wana try one .

It's said of Gujarati's, "where we go we take thepla, khakhra and dhokla with us". Miles away from Gujarat, residing in Houston is Maharaja Bhog recreating authentic Gujarati food like never before. Such is our love for food that compelled such high standards of food to be made available in the US also. The moment you enter till the moment you leave, a homely vibe hangs on.
Coming to the food, we opted for the "mild" option. The start couldn't have been better with dahi vada, sev khamni, papad along with chutneys. Jalebi's - crisp and sugary in the right proportion steals the limelight !! You can even have a jalebi marathon :p
Mains - Bhindi, Rajma were good. Paneer was okay, not soft and spicy as expected.
Dal, Kadhi,Rice and Khichdi are dishes no body gets wrong.
In all if you crave or want to try Gujarati food it's definitely a must visit !!!
Service - 5/5
Food - 5/5
Ambience - 4/5
Value for money - 4/5

Excellent rajasthan food. You'll eat till your stomach hurts and you can't eat anymore. Their rotis are the softest and if you're lucky, you'll visit on a day when they're serving malpua or moong daal halwa for dessert. :)
You won't regret eating here for sure.
Don't bother asking the servers what the dishes are if you're not familiar with Indian food. Flag down the hostess. You'll have better luck there.

Number one gujarati food in texas. I just loved it. It was huge in quantity and best in quality. Worth the price. Ambience is okay but service is really good. Must visit place for Indians in Houston.

My favourite place in Houston, it is a thali place and is combination of Gujarati and Rajasthani food. I would have been here about 30-40 times and always u find great options. They give some fine dishes, run by a Rajasthani person married to a Gujarati lady. I miss this place in rest of US. Most of the staff serving is non-Indian- they do their best describe the dish.

Great vegetarian Indian cuisine! Highly recommend this place for a lunch outing. All the selections are very delicious. The entire experience of a sit down served meal with a new menu or changing menu is the best feature of this place

Personally I am not very fond of veg thali.... but it was my family which pushed me in. So I will live upto the occasion of genuine food review. It's bit pricey for the taste and quality which is served in there. Service is very good though. Ambience is good.

food-3.5/5
service-4.5/5
ambience-4/5

Really good Indian Rajasthani style vegetarian Thali / Buffet. Delicious food. Excellent customer service.
BAD SERVICE. Any restaurant is a business which prepares and SERVES food and drinks to customers in exchange for money. In this hospitality industry, the staff of this restaurant is missing the art and practice of being hospitable. To cut the long story short, the food is edible but the service is horrible!! They are more for your money/bills than serving the food itself. We had driven from Dallas to Houston over a weekend only to try this place but returned very dejected.

VERY EXPENSIVE and Over priced. The restaurant serves Indian Thali for 18.99 plua tax abt $21. The restaurants with lavish buffets are also max 12.99 per person. The food is ok , vegetables are ok in taste but their deserts are really good.a thali in india cost $5 , buffet w veg and non veg dishes cost12.99 but this restaurant is very overpriced. I wish owner read this so they can start making fresh food , refills dessert more often and reduce their prices...

I was so disappointed and humiliated.. This used to be my favorite Thali restaurant, but I will not go back here again after been asked to leave since they need the table for some other people, that with a spoon in my mouth! I took my desert in hand and left. I felt so humiliated.

Elaborate. We decided to go there after some great recommendations. We were craving for an authentic Rajasthani spread and got a reaaaall grreaatt deal!! Friendly people, amazing spread, awesome food, great variety and super filling (it has to be, unlimited thali it is!) They do not get you the thali all set, they fill up the bowls right in front of you. You can even see that your plate is cleaned well before any food gets on it. I thought they were serving us small portions, but it is so much food that small portions actually meant that I got to taste them all. Dal baati and basundi were exquisite. Rotis are made fresh and soft. You even get pooris - as much as you can eat! Khichdi is pretty good too, but I thought the haldi in it was a little overpowering. Great place even if it is pricey ($90 for a table of four, including the $7 each authentic paan). Better work up an appetite before you choose to go there and you will not regret it.

Pros: 1. Authentic Rajastha.... Pros:
1. Authentic Rajasthani/Gujrati food of great quality and taste. First in town to serve delicious daal-baati-churma.

2. Great service and nice ambience.

Cons:
1. I felt $16 for a thali is slightly expensive.

I hope they preserve their quality with time unlike other Indian restaurants who start with a bang and gradually degrade themselves in quality, service and variety.

A Royal Experience Eating at this restaurant, in Houston, Texas, America, brought back memories of eating authentic vegetarian dinners in Indian Hindu weddings where the hosts reflect their Indian hospitality and keep serving us with the wide variety of food options with the philosophy-“Atithi Devo Bhavah”- where a guest is equated to God, hence has to be served! Interestingly Maharaja bhog’s website quotes it too as their value. The royal experience at Maharaja Bhog starts with your hands getting washed by the waitress in brass bowl while she is pouring the water from the brass decanter right at the table you are seated. This is how the royalty were served in ancient times...
