Crazy Pepper

The employees who have worked here over the last two decades are superb. Words don’t describe how genuine the people here are, no human is perfect all the time, but they’re great impacts in our community. Since I was about 5 I’ve eaten here with my family, I remember going in while they were constructing the restaurant, everything was torn out, and the owner explaining ideas to my mother. Seeing the new sign made me realize what “The Crazy Pepper” means to me. Nowhere else in this town brings back so many memories of people and family experiences like The Crazy Pepper does for me. It made me stop and realize that significance. It’s unlike any other place, always been always will be“The Crazy Pepper” to me. I am actually thankful to have this place, because nostalgia along with it. Unlike May Street being torn down.

First I must clarify that I do not want to bash on this restaurant, but rather want to share the plain facts of my experience. Maybe this will help improve the restaurant. I like Mexican food, and thought this place would be descent. After looking at the prices, my expectations rose. The water and chips were good, but you can't go wrong with water and chips. The service was descent. I ordered a burrito. It tasted frozen and lacked flavor. I did not finish it. I felt slightly sick afterwards. I do not recommend this. I don't usually wright reviews, but this time I feel I had to. Again, I do not like writing bad reviews, but I payed a lot of money for a meal that was not good in the slightest. Crazy Pepper-- I recommend you listen to reviews and feedback. Then use that feedback to improve. But for now, lower your prices so your customers don't feel ripped off.

I have been here a number of times over the years and had always been a favorite but I was very disappointed this visit. My dinner was good but not great or as flavorful as it has. I'm guessing they have new cook. Before leaving, I stopped into the restroom. The stall doors desperately need to be cleaned of the grime that is on every one. The women's restroom also is in need of a new sink. The current one is rusty, and while not dangerous, it is unhealthy.

Usually, it's pretty decent, tonight it was not. I ordered a chimichanga and couldn't eat it because the tortilla tasted like rancid deep fryer oil. After sitting for 20 minutes with an empty cup, I asked to refill it. That's just poor service. Then, they added an automatic tip. Yes, we were with a group, but there were only 3 of us on our check. I don't know what happened to crazy pepper, but it's not the same restaurant it used to be. That was our last meal there.
