Joy Cup

I dropped by Joy Cup Noodle Mean and noticed the lady owner wasn't there and the photo of her and her daughter was removed. There was an elderly man that sat across from us and he looked familiar to me. I asked the worker and was told they changed ownership this week. The elderly man was the former owner of Empress in the Chinese cultural center, the famous Wo Fat and Peking duck on Kapiolani...yep he's owned many big-time restaurants over the decades. The food was overall pretty good. The xiao long bao and spicy beef noodles were meh. The blanket noodles and bamboo shoots were the clear winners. They offer numerous types of flavorful Chinese tea which made the experience that much better. They were nice and friendly. The dishes came out fast and they were kind to give us free watermelon for dessert. I would come back again.

The perfect local spot for delicious homemade noodles. We arrived an hour before they closed and they were very accommodating. The noodles were cooked with a little chewy-ness which perfectly pairs with the slightly spicy sauce for an authentic Sichuan taste. The cook even came out to talk to the guests to ensure expectations are met. Definitely an affordable hidden gem.

THE BEST NOODLES ON O'AHU!!! I look forward to coming here and eating these delicious homemade noodles. We have tried lots of things! Potsticker, yum! Cucumber salad, yum! Blanket noodles, yum! Bamboo salad, yum! But the dan dan noodle for me is my favorite thing. There's so much yummy goodness in here, it is absolutely wonderful. It's clean inside. There is parking in front. Away from the heart of Waikiki, we are always able to be seated immediately. Lulu is so nice, it's like a friend cooking for you with love. Simply the best.❤️

I was in Oahu for 3.5 months and stumbled upon this small noodle spot not far from my unit. Was immediately hooked and it became a regular go-to spot for me. My favorite items were the Dan Dan noodles and the Blanket noodles. The noodles were the perfect chewy texture and bursting with flavor. Also, the owner is one of the nicest people! Can't recommend Joy Cup enough. This should be on every visitor and foodie's list of places to eat.

AMAZING! Everything is so fresh and homemade, even the ice cream! I got blanket noodles with extra vegetables, husband got Dan Dan noodles, one kid got spam noodles, and the other kid got the macaroni and cheese with spam, we all got ice cream (all three flavors between us), and all of it was just perfection. The sweetest lady and gentlemen run everything and cook, and a great playlist of music, too. I was singing along the whole time since we were the last ones there. Truly a wonderful place, and we will 100% be back to support them!

My husband and I started getting takeout from here during COVID restrictions and have been getting it at least twice a month since. We order the DanDan Noodles and Beef Noodles with a cup of peanuts on the side everytime. We have also had the spicy cucumbers, taco rice, and spicy potatoes. Everything from here is incredible. I honestly was sad the one time I ordered taco rice because nothing beats the Dan Dan noodles in my opinion! We order take out everytime and live about 10 minutes away and the noodles are always perfect. Spicy range 0-10 I enjoy some spice without lingering and I order a 4-6 depending on the day. My husband orders a 6-8 and considers it a comfortable level of spicy and the 8 was a bit sweaty. Beyond how great the food is, the owners are so nice! There are a couple of parking spots right in front of the restaurant making take out super easy.
