I went to drop off my modem by ward center and figured I would try a place I haven't tried yet.
I chose mocha java cafe cus they had breakfast burritos and I'm just a huge fan of them.
So I got a cup of organic coffee and the breakfast burrito and it was really tasty and filling. I forgot to say take out the beans since I didn't want to toot all day. Lol
It was still delish with the beans. It also comes with banana so u can feel a little healthy.
I would come back and try the other stuff for sure. Cute little cafe and the peeps a nice and friendly.
A rare gem in town. It is all too often that "healthy food" in hawaii means overpriced, tiny portions of food that really isn't all that mind-blowing for how much you have to dish out for it.
Mocha Java is an exception. Their food is healthy, delicious, better-than-reasonably priced, and their portion sizes actually fill you up!
Their house dressing is sooo good. I've been trying to get the recipe forever but they won't budge. Their specials board is always changing and usually has at least one special for breakfast (served all day, by the way!), lunch and dinner. Sometimes they have acai or espresso-drink specials, and every day they have a choice of two house-made soups. Try the chicken luau if they have it.
Everyone is super friendly--even the cooks will say hello as they make your food right in front of you! The servers and baristas are so nice and personable, and it doesn't hurt to have people working who are easy on the eyes ;)
It feels good to eat somewhere that leaves your stomach full, your taste buds happy and that doesn't empty your wallet. I recommend their "big breakfast" (the chicken sausage is delicious and i could eat the mac nut french toast every day), the crepes (bananas & cream = my fav), the seared greek chicken salad(favorite menu item!), and the tofu scramble with fresh veggies and pesto. There's really something for everyone's taste, whether you're vegan, lactose intolerant, vegetarian, carnivore, omnivore...they pretty much suit all types.
Great Food!!!. I love this place! High quality ingredients and really good, nutritious food at reasonable prices. They make real acai bowls and use good ingredients and toppings unlike a lot of other places. My favorite is the Mocha Java bowl -yum! Now that they are using biodegradable, corn starch cups and bowls I am even more stoked. Try the Greek Seared Chicken Salad too--it rocks! This place even has brown rice and local organic greens....insane!
Stumbled into this café by accident and what a happy accident it was! What a great selection of food, eats, desserts and coffee! Generous portions and fulfilling to the soul! Definitely recommend for all! Went twice during my stay in Honolulu! Not to mention great people!
This place is pretty old, but still attracts a lot of customers and it doesn't get very loud here. They have plenty of tables which are usually used by college students. I only come here for their Peanut Butter Milkshake. It's the best I've had because the flavor is very bold. From the food that I've ordered here, I wasn't disappointed. The only downside is that it's a little dirty.
Ideal place for healthy or decadent food options. Friendly staff and quick service. Indoor and outdoor seating available.
Mocha Java is our go to brunch spot in the Ward area. We love visiting after a morning yoga session and getting a delicious, healthy meal. You definitely feel good about what you're eating because it's really never too heavy. Filling but not overly.
Mocha Java is one of the best places for causal dining in the Ward area. Although we may only come primarily during brunch time, Mocha Java is always a good spot for anytime!
Extensive menu with one of the largest vegetarian offerings on the island. Great breakfast, especially the french toast and home fries. Omelets were also delicious.
The only downside is that the seating area is in the isle of the Ward shopping center (although not particularly high traffic). Air conditioning is always cranked to the max inside and the outdoor seating is at uncomfortable steel tables.
Overall, one of my favorite places for breakfast.
Coffee, tea, crepes, acai bowls. Lots of variations in flavour and style. One of the absolute best acai bowls ive ever had was here. I can't quite put my finger on why but it had the X factor. Portion was impressive, price showed value and customer service kept me coming back for years. My first reccomendation now for acai bowls.
We have been coming here for years because it's hard to find a place that's good for breakfast. We found it and it's still is by far one of the best places to eat breakfast and get your coffee fix . A must if you haven't been. Thank you mocha Java Cafe
I'm not crazy about everything on their menu, but their Acai bowl chumps everything else I've tried on the island (yea...I tried the food truck on Kapiolani and many other spots). It is just right. They serve breakfast all the time which is awesome, and their eggs benedict is unreal
Love this place! Treat yourself to the Chocolate Expresso Milkshake, I can't go anywhere near this place without picking one up!
I prefer to stop in for a quick breakfast bite over any other place in the area.
Great servers. Good coffee. Excellent selection. Do yourself a favor and make a stop at this cafe. Prices and food are better than St@rbux.
Me and my family were relaxed enough at the table seat. And all the drinks were very tasty.
