With one of our last meals in Honolulu, we decided to splurge on a special meal at @teppanyakionoderahi. This restaurant serves imported Japanese beef with fresh local ingredients, all prepared in front of you by a chef on a metal plate (The Teppan). The beef we tried were the Hokkaido Shorthorn Wagyu and the A5 Omi Wagyu. To get a sense of what eating the fatty Wagyu beef is like, imagine eating a peeled Grape. 🍈 The pieces of beef explode with flavor in your mouth with no effort. It is definitely something you have to experience to appreciate and we highly, highly recommend it!! The rest of the meal consists of 8 other excellent courses. We have to point out two excellent standout dishes though. The fresh abalone from Kona was truly amazing and was actually the best dish that night!! Cooked with nothing but light seasoning, it really blows you away with that “from the ocean” flavor. The other is the A5 Wagyu Tenderloin sandwich, fried in front of your eyes on a freshly toasted piece of toast, it was truly beef heaven! They have other locations around the word, and we will definitely be visiting those in the future!

The food is amazing and the chef is extraordinarily good. It's pricy, but worth it for the experience.

We had a celebration in the restaurant. It was wonderful experience. The set menu is quite pricey if you go with the high grade Japanese Kobe. However, the Kobe beef is really tasty, it melts in your mouth. The seats in the restaurant are spacious, the food, presentation and service was amazing. Probably one of the best place in Honolulu to enjoy a special teppanyaki night.
