Do-ne

We ordered takeout and the presentation was great! Everything is neat and orderly in the bag. The food is very high quality. I got the shrimp and oyster which was a special for the week. It retained its crunch and the flavor was perfect. My partner got the tuna-don and the fish was very fresh! Amazing experience!

Katsu plate was really good, the special combo plate is a bunch of relatively basic items, so I personally wouldn't recommend, but it can be fun to try a bunch of things. Pumpkin tempura unfortunately loose its crunch but still very tasty, fried mackerel breading and flavor was great, potato salad was also very enjoyable and I loved the addition of apples inside. The lady behind the counter was very nice and we appreciated how helpful she was. If I wasn't a tourist, I would order from here fairly often I think.

This place might have the best cost to quality ratio for Japanese food on the island. Most options are under $15 and everything I’ve had is fresh and tasty. Personal favorites are the special bento (sells out early!), the chirashi / seafood don, and the fried chicken. Service is friendly. Order ahead as it’s a small place and big orders may take a while.

Easy to miss storefront, but food can't be missed! I was so surprised to see motsunabe (pig offal hot pot) takeout on their website. You get the ingredients all prepared and you get to cook it at home, how cool! I boiled the offal for 15 minutes by itself in the broth first to make it tender, then added all the other ingredients (except the noodles). It was incredibly flavorful and delicious and a great value at $16. Service was friendly too and there's free easy parking in back (if you don't miss it the first time like I did).
