I love they're malasadas. Reasonable also. Just a little out of the way if you are on public transportation.

I liked Champion better than Leonard's malasadas. Unfortunately, the owner retired and closed the business.

They were fast cooking the malasadas since I wanted the originals. I bought 2 dozen malasadas for a friend for a price of $22. Check them out! Pretty good food.

Unbelievably good stuff, and the owner, his wife and brother are the most friendly people you will meet. Definitely worth a visit, for those delicious malasadas.

Great hidden treasure. I love this place more than the "other guys". I can even remember the last time I've been to the other place. Champion Malasadas are the best. Pros. Good service. Served always hot malasadas. Cons. You have a wait because they make it to order.

Amazing malasadas. Way better than Leonard's, better than Zippy's, just better. Dough is good whether hot out of the fryer or not. Chewy, light, flavorful. Fillings are generous and flavorful too. Favorite is the haupia. Vanilla is also excellent. Chocolate filling isn't my favorite, but would take a chocolate there over anywhere else. Best part is that they will drop the dough to order. No more worrying about when they make their next batch or trying to time it just right. If you give them five minutes, you have a box of the freshest, best malasadas you can have. Cheaper than Leonard's, cheaper than Zippy's for filled malasadas, too. Another of the best things about the shop is their individual sponge cakes. Pleated & a really good size, they are actually kind of perfect for one person. Drizzle some icing or glaze on it, and you have a winner. Cheap at $2 each. Birthday candles for sale on the counter. Canned drinks available in the cooler. Nowhere really official to eat, but there are chairs thereto wait (OR gobble some malasadas) and the very sweet uncle in the front will let you hang out for as long as you like. Tight parking. You may need to drive around the block but it's worth it. No bathrooms on site I could see. Open til 7 p.m. most days. Accepts credit cards. Highly, highly recommend.

Love this place! Always a favorite stop when we are in town. Burn your mouth hot, chewy and so delicious! I prefer it over Leonard's:) Never crowded and the wait is not more than it takes them to fry up the malasadas!

The tax director from the company we're working on out in Honolulu decided to bring some malasadas from this place. I've never been here, but the malasadas were damn good. The malasada which are like a large beignets or large donuts without holes in them COVERED in cinnamon sugar. Deep fried, cinnamon sugar? Who can say no to those two things together?

Chewy & creamy malasadas! Must try just-baked 85C malasadas! I love other bread too.

So, I've been to Champion several times, and I am impressed. I have had their regular, custard, and chocolate malasadas. These are all of the flavors available here. The regular malasada is excellent. They make it fresh for you so it takes a while for your order to be filled, but it's worth the wait. The custard and chocolate filled are very good as well. Not overpoweringly sweet, and very moist. The best thing about Champion malasadas are that they are actually really good cold as they are piping hot, so you don't have to gorge yourself all at once, right after you purchase them, to try to get the best malasada experience like some other malasada place. You know which one I'm talking about. Other things I like about Champion, not related to their malasada, is that every time I come here, I am served right away, as there is no line. There are only about 5 parking spaces, but they are always available. Highly recommended. I'll be coming back as much as I can.
