Great little gem. Not on the main road but worth 2 blocks off the strip for sure. Friendly staff, perfect timing, and amazing food. Joel was our bartender and we asked him to order for us. He was reluctant at first because often people don’t mean it and don’t know it…..We do and loved what he brought out. I don’t care for sake so I thought I would try to get on board. Joel shared some info and samples. After a glass I’m still not there. Highly recommend this little gem.

I LOVE THIS PLACE!! It was my first time there, I ordered 4 dishes for my fiance and me. And we loveeeeee everything. It’s the next level of Japanese Cuisine. Their food is super rich, flavorful, and delicious. Especially I haven’t tried any similar. That’s why this place makes me “wow” a lot. Here is what we order: • Hawaiian Tuna Spicy Roll • The Hawaiian Tuna Cutlet (must-try) • ZIGU Roll • Spicy Chilled Soba

This place is absolutely delicious! Love the Ahi fillet and the yellow sauce that goes with it! I never know kale can taste so good! The spicy salmon roll is also very flavorful. The pineapple & watermelon Sake Sangria is very refreshing on a hot day! Not cheap but very worth it! I went a second time during my stay and really enjoy all the food! The poke bowl is very refreshing, and the scallop nigiri is very tasty. I had the Ahi cutlets again and really enjoy it. I will miss this place!

Everything tastes really delicious. The otoro sushi is worth the price, the spiced chilled soba is so refreshing and flavorful, and the their version of haupia is great for a dessert. The sake flights are a great complement to the meals. One of the best meals in Honolulu!

Really delicious food with innovative twists and fresh ingredients. Highly recommend the local farm sweet potato salad with pipikaula (creamy with a variety of textures), mochiko fried chicken, and spicy chilled soba. They have a pretty decent happy hour as well with many options - try the mamaki tea chi-hi!

The fishes are super fresh but pricy as well. Service was good but the place is a bit crowded. Highly recommend the scallop sushi - sweet and fresh. The edamame tastes really good but be cautious of the spiciness 😂

We had an excellent time here! The service and food were all excellent. I personally had the Spicy Salmon Roll and it was delicious. I ordered a Spicy Tuna Roll and it took a little over 30 minutes to come out, but the host was nice enough to still serve it and take it off the bill for us, which I really appreciated. We also had two birthdays which were well accommodated for, which was fantastic. We would definitely come back if given the chance!

Great place for causal japanese cuisine in Honolulu. They have discounts for happy hour before 6, make the meal even more worth it.

Wow! This isn’t your typical Japanese sushi restaurant by any stretch. If you’re in Waikiki, do yourself a favor and don’t miss ZIGU. Delicious, authentic, original offerings. The service (David P.) was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. And the pricing is reasonable for the fresh and local provisions on the menu. The mochiko fried chicken is NOT to be missed, and the complementary tea at the conclusion of the meal was a nice touch.
