Little bit of a wait - had a line almost out the door, but these beer battered fish tacos, and some of the other meats, are made fresh to order. Some of the best tacos I've ever had in my life. Wifey got a chicken torta which was amazing. Definitely recommend!
We love This place since it opened. We travel the planet in search of the best fish tacos and this is in our top 3 for sure. The poke taco is my favorite! Staff is very helpful and willing to cater to your needs even though they are very busy. A must stop in Oahu!
We came here pretty much at closing time but the young lass was still happy to serve us. He was so friendly and such a nice guy! We were meant to be last orders but then a couple of American guys came along and begged him to serve them, he was too nice to turn them away so he let them in also. I had the grilled fish tacos, tasted great with fresh ingredients. Highly recommend!
Delicious tacos! I had a taco plate (1 x chicken, 1 x fried shrimp) - fried shrimp taco was insane! Also some loaded fries which were so tasty! I spent about $12 on my meal. The portion was a good size, staff were really friendly and the tacos were really tasty and quick. I’ll be going back!
Garlic grilled shrimp tacos were amazing! Rice are not that great. It’s a subway styled Mexican food, you choose your own toppings. Staff was pleasant and polite.
Loved this place, the food is amazing, dosnt look like much but dont let that fool you.
I went there 4 or 5 times when i was in Hawaii recently and cannot recommend it highly enough.
Amazing tacos - highly recommend their beer battered fish and the grilled shrimp! Best seafood tacos I've tasted.
So glad we found this place early on in our stay in Waikiki because it meant we could keep coming back!
Walked passed and could smell the tacos wafting through the air.
I had the grilled fish taco and beer battered fish taco with chipotle sauce they looked exactly like the picture they had posted on the wall.
The beer battered fish is the most delicious taco ever!! They are made fresh and to order.
The steak quesadilla was very cheesy and hit the mark too.
There is both limited seating both indoors and outdoors.
I only gave them a 4 as from a service perspective saying "What do you want?" Is not good customer service.
The portions here are over the top! Waikiki is a shopping mecca with high end stores aplenty, and everything there seems to comes with the price-tag to match, even the food. However, Surf N Turf Tacos is one place where you can definitely get your money's worth. Before we stopped here, I read a few reviews and they were quite mixed, but I'm really glad we decided to go for it. It was located very near where we were staying, so we picked up a burrito and a salad bowl and took them back to our hotel to eat. The service was very friendly, and the food was fresh, hot, and plentiful. In fact, if we had known ahead of time how ginormous our order would be, we would have split a single item - as it was, the leftovers were plenty for a couple of generous snacks for each of us. There have lots of vegetarian options, and we especially recommend the Grilled Veggie Burrito.
We came here for a snack & we wanted the vegetarian tacos. Can you believe they were out of roasted vegetables? Actually the tacos here looked better than what we copped at La Cucaracha, & a lot cheaper, so its a pity they happened to be out of vegetables!!
DELICIOUS! They make your taco "subway style" so you get to decide exactly what and how much goes on your taco/burrito. I got a pankocrusted shrimp burrito with steak on it and it was 13$.. So big I ate half and took the rest back to my hotel and then ate it later for another meal. Great price for great tasting food, and the customer service was awesome. Everyone there was so happy and treated me very well. Definitely coming back there before I leave HI!
Delicious! Awesome battered fish tacos. Get the veggie taco or battered fish! Skip the shrimp taco--too much breading. The line for Udon on the same block was outrageous--come here instead!
This is a straightforward, no-nonsense place to enjoy a speedy meal. The shrimp taco plate boasts freshness and delightful flavors, but what truly stands out is the garlic-infused rice. The only drawback? Battling the birds at the outdoor tables – quite the amusing challenge! 😄
Fresh made tacos and bowls. I love the beer battered fish tacos!! Light, flaky fish with a great crunchy batter. It takes 10 min to cook and prep but so worth the wait and money! Choice of garlic, cilantro or dirty rice if you do the plate. Also black or pinto beans. And try the taro tortillas! Very light and fun purple color! The guacamole is not spicy but has good flavor... No chunks of onions or peppers.
The tacos are delicious at Surf n Turf Tacos. The atmosphere is nothing fancy. The service was friendly and there were a few tables outside to enjoy the food. The fish tacos were made to order with plenty of delicious toppings.
I wanted a quick late night meal that I could take back to my hotel room and this was a perfect choice. Fast, counter service with friendly employees. I ordered the chicken nachos and the portion was gigantic. Good value for the portion size. Great flavor, loved the salsa. I had wanted to get lettuce as a topping, but all that was available was very limp, iceberg that didn't look fresh. Overall a great place for quick Mexican food near the beach.
The food was really good. We had 2 tacos - beer battered fish and panko crusted shrimp tacos and a vegetarian nacho plate with a side of their Da House and Habanero sauce. It was super flavorful and would highly recommend. Took us 5 minutes and the plate was almost done. Service was quick and very polite. ❤️❤️❤️
Got the breaded fish tacos. They were delicious. The refried beans have a smoky taste to them, interesting but good. Overall, great little hole in the wall with good prices for Waikiki
I don't know what it is, but some places in Honolulu don't have employees who provide service despite being in the service industry.
My wife wanted to try the food here from the first day we arrived in the Waikiki area.
We finally made the trip before we left. However, my wife wasn't sure what to order. Normally, in situations like this, the service people would offer suggestions like "our chicken is most popular" or "if you like spicy, try the..." or whatever. Not here. Just blank stares as my wife struggled to decide what to get.
Aside from the service, the food was okay. I personally didn't have any. My wife said it was fine. My daughter didn't want to try any. Not sure why she wasn't interested.
PROs: Food was tasty and great. Extensive menu. Drinks available. Moderately priced. I returned a second time because the first time was so enjoyable. Friendly staff.
I had the ahi dos tacos on my first visit and the grilled shrimp tacos on my second visit. Both times, the food was AMAZING. I am so happy I stopped by and would visit again if/when I visit Waikiki in the future.
CONs: the shop is smokey. Prices are quite high. Minimal seating (there are two picnic tables outside the shop and that is all that is available) so prepare to take away to your hotel if seating is full. No indoor seating available.
Didn't think it'd be in Hawaii but the best Mexican food I've ever had! We had the shrimp tacos and the fried potatoes and the flavor was so on point! Though there may be a language barrier sometimes, the guys helping us were super nice!! The price is soooo good for the phenomenal food!! Highly recommended!
Food was really good but they nickel and dime you for everything. They charge you for salsa, sour cream, etc. The only thing that's free is the napkin.
