My wife and I had a perfectly splendid experience here at Hy’s Waikiki tonight. This was very possibly the best meal either of us has had in our lives. We’ve eaten at some very fine restaurants over the years, but the prime rib, lobster and king crab were over-the-top fantastic in each of their respective categories. I’d recommend this place to anyone - whether you are a regular fine dining connoisseur, or someone saving up for a very special night. The ambiance was incredible and the staff was superb. When you go, I hope for your sake that you get Logan, Ernie, Nic and Jerrel as your wait staff. I’m told that Danny was our Grill Master and Chris was our bartender. Kudos to them all. Usually, when we go to a restaurant and order prime rib, we leave the place telling ourselves ‘never again - we make better prime rib at home ourselves’.. That was not the case tonight. I thought I could make a good prime rib, but the Hy’s staff and Danny schooled me for sure. Best meal in Waikiki for sure. Trust me, go eat here!
Dinner was very good. The Fois Gras is a must. Our server made a table side chocolate Flambé and he explained ingredient and process at every step, he also had the absolutely perfect mix of sophistication and comfortable friendliness during the entire dinner. His inviting yet fine polish added to the entire experience. The music was delivered live by an extremely talented gentleman with an absolutely beautiful voice. Even the valet was friendly and inviting. A little pricey and sophisticated but not stuffy or pretentious. Worth every dime.
Fantastic steak dinner! The atmosphere is perfect for fine dining. Staff are well dressed and superbly professional. Made our ceasar salad right beside the table, explaining the ingredients. Steaks were massive and a perfect medium rare. They even still make beef Wellington, which many shops stopped preparing.
Reservations are highly recommended, and there is a dress code.
Simply an amazing steak house and fine dining experience. Service was exceptional on every level. Our waiter Rutger was professional and knowledgeable, and no details were missed. Food was just heavenly. It was one of the highlights of our trip. Oh, and make sure to dress up in your best Hawaiian clothes.

All the staff, especially Jason and Cameron, took care of our every need. extremely courteous and professional. Made our honeymoon experience top notch.

Our experience at Hy's Steak House was genuinely exceptional, and it left a lasting impression on us. The restaurant's elegant decor provided a perfect ambiance for our fine dining evening, and its location near our hotel in Waikiki Beach made it a convenient choice.
From the moment we stepped in, the service stood out at every level. Our waiter was not only professional and knowledgeable but also incredibly attentive to every detail, guaranteeing our dining experience was flawless. The food was heavenly.
We thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to dress up for the occasion, adding to the overall charm of the evening. It's worth noting that the closed-toe shoe policy applied only to men, allowing for a comfortable and elegant dining atmosphere.
One of the standout moments was when the staff inquired about any special celebration in advance. Not only did they capture our moment with a photograph, but they also promptly printed and presented it to us before dessert arrived, reflecting their attention to detail and dedication to creating memorable experiences for their guests.
Opting for the three-course meal, we were consistently impressed with the quality and taste of each dish. Even the Caesar salad, a seemingly simple choice, was elevated to a culinary delight, showcasing the restaurant's commitment to excellence in every aspect of its menu.
The service was excellent from valet to waiter.
Even though the escargot was okay, I would have been more impressed to have a WOW factor. The rest of the meal was excellent.
I expected more from the bathroom to match the atmosphere of the restaurant being in a fine dining.
Excellent! This was the best steak house in Honolulu. (I tried Wolfgang's, Signature Prime and a few others). Even the cocktails were amazing! I loved smoke&bitters: it has a smoky smell and flavour, which I miss! Garlic steak with foie gras was outstanding as well. The only downside will be the price, but it is understandable with top-notch services and food.

A great spot to celebrate a special occasion. Valet parking for free made parking a breeze. Be sure to tip!
The atmosphere felt upscale and there was a guitarist playing music on the second level. They have booth and table options and we saw quite a few families. Steaks are grilled on the first level in an encased grill area, and you can watch the steak master work his magic. We sat in the first level and it felt like we were in an old library.
The service was top notch, attentive, and friendly. They have a few server stations throughout the restaurant, as various items are prepared table side. They store the table side carts in these areas. I saw a previous review where someone complained about this and felt compelled to explain this. If you can't handle server stations, I'm not sure how you dine out in general.
The menu should please most and they have a lot of steak, seafood, and add-on options to choose from. They even had a few vegetarian options should someone in your party not eat meat.
We ordered steak Oscar, beef Wellington, lobster bisque and the Caesar salad prepared table side. It was the most delicious Caesar salad I've had. We also had an apple dessert prepared table side. Everything was outstanding and perfectly cooked.
Let me start by saying and we go to a lot of very, very nice restaurants. That being said, this restaurant was in probably our top five. The staff and service will excellent, beyond belief. Our waiter was Vince and his helper was Mana. The menu options were awesome and the food was delicious. We were treated like rockstars from both our Vince and Mana, and along with all the other staff there. The drinks and food were awesome and we highly recommend anyone in Hawaii to go here. 100% top notch!!!!
Top Notch! From start to finish this restaurant is the ultimate dining experience. Beef Wellington and lobster bisque was superb. All the staff was in unity to ensure you have all the accommodations that are required of you. Best restaurant by far. You will pay for it, but they deserve it. Great Job Guys.
This steakhouse is superior and very upscale. Food was excellent and service was good. However, I am only giving 3 stars on the service because my boyfriend and I had to pour our own wine. I feel as though this high end of a restaurant, the server should have been paying attention to our wine glasses
