This is a great spot to get take out dinner near Waikiki. There is a small parking lot in front of the grill. My husband got the loco moco and I got the wasabi shoyu ahi salad. My husband enjoyed his loco moco and I loved the salad. It was nice to have some fresh greens and the ahi was seared and well seasoned. You could definitely taste the wasabi but it was not overly hot. It was perfect. Don't forget to stop by the bakery next door. They are famous for the blueberry cream cheese scones (we got one and loved it - it's more spongey like cake than a the dry/crumbly scones). We also got the coconut bread pudding and diamond head market torte. Both items taste great but as a peanut butter and banana lover, the diamond head market torte was a winner for me. It's an Oreo base with peanut butter cheesecake and a chocolate pudding with bananas. It's nothing fancy but it tasted great. I enjoyed everything I had here and highly recommend it!
Awesome market with freshly made food and competitive prices. The salads are well portioned and great for a grab and go option. The cakes are delicious as well. Grab the fresh shrimp cocktails for $4, for a great healthy deal!
Stumbled across this gem on our walk back from the Diamond Head crater hike. It had a lineup so we thought it must be good. It doesn't look like much from out front but wow was the sandwich good. We ordered the teriyaki chicken sandwich and all we could think was we needed to get another! I would highly recommend stopping if you are in the area.
The blueberry cream cheese scone, assuming that's what they are called, will rock your mouth! I would describe it as a cross between a blueberry muffin, scone and danish that is absolutely scrumptious. Enjoy these any time of the day for breakfast, as a snack or dessert! While staying in Honolulu for a week, I had to limit myself to just 3 so as to ensure I could burn them off and not overdose on gluten. So awesome!
Scones were to die for! Per Kelly's recommendation put ur scone in for exactly 22sec and it'll come out perfectly! Lots of grab and go food options as well
Order at the first window, pick up at the second. The food comes in large portions and is really good. I highly recommend the Chinese chicken salad, the char siu pork in it really adds another layer of flavor and they are generous with the dried won tons for crunch. But all the food is great and the team behind the window are always super nice. Please excuse the picture from the hotel room...
The market had some blueberry cheesecake scones that were so delicious and moist loved it and they are actually known for them. Next door was the grill you can order at the window. My husband had the teriyaki burger and I had a bite of it and it was so juicy and cooked perfect and the smokey flavor with the teriyaki was perfection! And if you order fries, they give you a ton (a bag full). I ordered the mix plate that had a beef patty with gravy, so tender and loved the grill marks and grill flavor, beef and chicken teriyaki was delicious and to add the crunchiness and freshness of the salad that was lightly coated in dressing just added to the deliciousness! I'm just sad that I don't live there to get it on the regular!!
I am so sad that I arrived here at 9am before their lunch service window was open but I am also so happy the market was open. I got so many tasty things. Some of my favorite things I had in my trip to Hawaii and I can't wait to try more things.
