Wanted a Philly cheese steak, and heard this place was pretty good. But they wanted to put mustard and lettuce on it (Good Lord!), and the fries had that dang seasoning salt on them. And to top it off, it came on pita bread. A Philly cheese steak on pita bread. Have mercy.
Service was good and the people were nice. Just wouldn't know a Philly cheese steak if it crawled out their tailpipe and bit them on the nose.
SAMs deli is a cool little Mediterranean place tucked in the heart of Edgewood. We went for dinner and was greeted by the owner at the register who also makes your food. I had a burger and my wife had the philly. The portions were large and the food was pretty good. You only have the option to sit outside so go on a cool day or at night. Neat place
My family eats here once a week and we love it. The hamburgers and fries are great it is the best money value anywhere the staff is so friendly
Eat at Sam's a bunch with the family. Sam and his crew are awesome. Tried the mushroom-onion-swiss burger for first time on his rec and was blown away at how awesome it was. Can't wait for my next one....or any gyro/chicken plate, too!
Love this place. Great food and friendly employees. I eat here at least once a week. One of my favorites is the cheeseburger and fries. Delicous!

Favorite Burger in town. Love, love, love Sam's. The food is fantastic, especially the french fries, burgers, and omelettes. The mint tea is a delightful refreshment on a hot day. I am moving from Homewood soon and the main reason I will miss Homewood is not able to eat at Sam's. Also, the staff and owner are fantastic. So kind!!

Delicious Trip Down Memory Lane. My kid and I were in Homewood and remembered reading about Sam's Deli and Grill. We decided to give it a try, about a mile away from it I remember that Sam's is a very old family favorite that we had simply forgotten. When my boy saw it the memories of eating their delicious food and playing in their uniquely seated back yard as a child came rushing back to him. I remember that we quit going due to the change in owners and names, it used to be called Moneer's and was open 24/7, the new owner is a very nice and mellow mannered man. I ordered the Gyro Plate and my kid got the Chicken Kabob Plate. We walked through the back door into the relaxing courtyard that we remembered, strewn with tables and murialed walls. We passed the hill my son used to run up and down as a child and ended up sitting on the street side patio, which was reminiscent of a boardwalk at the beach due to the day's breezy overcast. After some laid back people watching our food arrived, the Chicken Kabob came with an accompanying skewer of grilled vegetables. We found the salad dressing to be somewhat weak, and watery, the wild rice however was perfectly cooked aldente and a pleasure to eat. The Gyros was well cooked and fairly portioned, the chicken was tender and succulent and ate beautifully with their smooth, creamy and nutty Hummus. The Tatziki boasted the desired pungent and garlicky tang that so many restaurants lack; our meals were served with the usual pita triangles and fresh fruit. While the Diet Coke was disappointing the Mint Tea was very cool and refreshing, a quenching accompaniment to the meal. Sam's is a relaxing outdoor eating establishment that serves tasty food and has a one of a kind atmosphere; unfortunately they are no longer open late at night. My boy and I were glad that we rediscovered this place for a walk down memory lane coupled with a satisfying lunch.
Awesome!. Sam's Deli & Grill is so delicious! Not only does this place make great food, but they also have the nicest people working there! Love this place!
This place has super-friendly service, plus quality food and generous portions. The hummus is top notch, but so are the burgers and fries. If the weather is nice, sit out back and enjoy the mural, or people-watch at a table on the front sidewalk.
The best experience in going out to eat in a very long time. Everything was cooked to perfection, and all the veggies were crisp and fresh. Thanks for the lovely experience. We will definitely be back! Cant wait!
This is the coolest little place, EVERYTHING I've ever eaten here has been freshly prepared and DELICIOUS. Just remember, they grill the onions on their AWESOME Cheeseburger, I take mine raw and they gladly prepare to order. It's located in the Edgewood section of Homewood, if your product isn't good, you don't last long, they've been there for a long while !!
Hands down, best mushroom swiss burger around. I drive out of the way to get it every time I am in town. The fries are fantastic as well.

I've eaten at Sam's a few times but today I called in an order. I picked it up and returned to the office to eat. The bag had ketchup, napkins my food order correct. It's the little things sometimes. The food is top notch, to go along with the service you receive. Big Thanks to Sam's for that old school service.
This place is awesome! Never had a negative experience what so ever. The customer service and food is outstanding. I would hate to see it ever get pushed out of business like so many places these days i.e sams super sandwhiches. Sad state of affairs for local business these days!!!
