The food was great! Service was good but the server keep asking "anything else?" All the time.
I rode 1hr+ to enjoy my food.
Finally a good all around Puerto Rican food place
Being a breaded steak connoisseur I can tell you that this place has the very best breaded steak in all of Miami. Definitely one of my favorite places to dine, the people are great the food is fresh in the desert to all homemade and some of the best you can have anywhere
Stopped by here on the way home from a NASCAR race. Simply delicious. If you've been to the Raices in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico, then you'll agree that the food is just as delicious in this location. The only thing missing when comparing would be the decor and atmosphere. Everything else is great. The staff is friendly and service time was fine. Food came out still sizzling. We recommend the empanadilla de jueyes and the bacalaito for appetizers and all of the entree selections we had were yummy (mofongo relleno with steak and onions, dufongo relleno with pork, and rice, beans, tostones, and cubed pork). Location is questionable and the parking area quite dirty (located in a small strip mall), but don't let this deter you from going here. If you are looking for AUTHENTIC Puerto Rican fare, this is the only place you should go.
I am 5 months pregnant and was craving some pasteles. I got there at 8:50pm on a Sunday when they close at 9pm and they were very nice. The pasteles were exquisite, almost as good as the ones my abuela used to make.
Delicious! Would definitely go here again. Got the bistec y cebollas with rice and beans and it was amazing. The beans were so good I wanted more! Although skip the crab empanadas. They weren't good, really fishy. Other than than, friendly service, clean restaurant. Definitely recommend it!
The staff was very helpful and the food was great. Don't be intimidated by the menu. Everything is excellent and the staff can help.
This place was very good I thought I was in P.R great prices and great food had crab empanadas, piononos, crab alcapurias, bacalao frito , pernil w/ arroz con gandules and pasteles will be back.
The food is incredible.... The mofongo will raise your standard... The service is awesome and if you are going for breakfast, it will run you about $4... This place is inexpensive, but the food is great... My mofongo with shrimp was so delicious... I am definitely going back
Puertorican food at its best!. I was searching for puertorican restaurants close to home for my husband, he was craving mofongo. I found Raices and decided to take him to dinner for his birthday. What a pleasant surprise!
It is a small restaurant in a little strip mall but, wow, does it pack a punch! Starting with the availability of 'Kola Champagne India'. This is a soft drink made by a puertorican company, I'm told similar to Dr. Pepper but, to me, it has no comparison. I was ecstatic that it was part of the menu! My husband had fresh passion fruit juice, he was on cloud 9.
The choice of appetizers is vast and very true to what we would eat in the island; sorullitos, bacalaitos, piononos, alcapurrias, pasteles, cuajito, to name a few. We opted for an alcapurria, bacalaito and a pionono. Each one was better than the last one! They also have sancocho! We left that one for our next visit.
Our entrees were mofongo, of course! But again, the selection is very broad. They offer the mofongo stuffed with 12 different proteins, they offer platters with different sides like arroz con gandules, and sandwiches and burgers. My husband had the mofongo stuffed with bistec encebollado (steak and onion), mine was stuffed with carne frita (fried pork). And when I say stuffed, I mean STUFFED. It is served in a traditional wooden mortar, that's about 10 inches high! We kept digging in and it seemed those mortars were bottomless, we had to take some home. It was exquisite! The meats were savory and tender, and the mofongo was the best I've had, so moist we didn't need the broth... but we had it too!
We could barely breath at this point but the desserts were calling our names. We decided to order one tembleque (coconut custard) to share. It was so delicious we ended up ordering a second one. These were definitely homemade. The taste of coconut was ever present, it wasn't overwhelmingly sweet and the consistency was extremely light. At that point I decided we really had to leave because I could have eaten several more of those tiny treasures.
On to the service, once again a smashing success. We were welcomed with a smile and a warm greeting the moment we opened the door to come in. We felt at home all throughout dinner. We enjoyed a relaxing, well paced meal.
To top it off, the prices are excellent. The most expensive item is about $12, and you truly experience the taste of Puerto Rico. Tie that to great service and outstanding food and you have a winner.
We're already making plans to go back with friends and family!
Love this place..I feel close to home.. (Connecticut) that is...but every one is friendly.nd overall the food is grrrreeaatttt..
A little hole-in-the-wall in a strip mall. Wait staff is very friendly & helpful with us who are not familiar with authentic Puerto Rican cuisine. We were advised to split the stuffed Mofongo with pork
chunks. So glad for that advice as it was a lot of food. Very good!
GRRRRREAT!!!!!!. I just moved from New York RIco and was dying for some Puertorrican food.. I started a job in Homested and after eating all the crap around the job (ihop, el rancho, etc.) i was home sick. I was need my Mofongo con carne frita y ensalada. WOW!!! Kick ass. Did a search in Google and ended up here at Victorias. It's a small place but it packs a punch. I recomend it to everyone. Hey i will take my wife over the weekend. ***** and keep up the good food.
The food was good but they closed down.
Awesome food, real Puerto Rican flavor. Resonable price. Will definitely come back for more.
Great food, great prices! Staff is courteous and knows the menu. Everything is great!
There was not one thing that I did not like from this restaurant. The service was exceptional. Our waiter was very attentive, conversational, and on point. The food was absolutely amazing, from presentation to taste. The Piña Colada was delicious. We even got free samples of mango mousse and parcha mousse which was really good and made our daughter very happy. My family and I will definitely be visiting this restaurant again when we go down to Homestead.
Great service and most importantly GREAT authentic Puerto Rican food. My wife and I visited in June 2017 and ordered "Mofongo + Carne frita" served in the traditional "Pilón" and "Pionono", everything was delicious.
