Casa De Fruta has everything for everyone! The store is stocked full of all the candy and dried and fresh fruits you could imagine, as well as jams and sauces. We bought two fresh pies and they traveled well on the two hour trip home. We also stopped in at the deli and had lunch. The sandwiches were delicious and well priced. The play area for the kids is perfect for ages 5-8. The train ride and carousel are perfect family rides. There are several ducks and peacocks roaming the pond and playground area, but they don't bother anyone.
I was slightly disappointed.
The fruit and vegetable selection is huge and you can find pretty much anything. The place and the playground are definitely a good add-on for this place.
At the same time the fruit quality was not the best. I would expect to get pretty much everything almost fresh. Like we got strawberries, and they tasted really good. But the next day we started noticing some mold. Which means that particular box was not fresh.
You should definitely check out this spot. Its on the freeway, so pretty easy to miss the exit. So be careful with that part!!
This is a lovely complex that offers a lot for anyone passing through. We didn't eat at the restaurant, but we spent an hour walking around the shops and premises. Really dig the goods they sell here, especially the dried fruit. The candy store also has a large variety of sweets. Parking was ample and you can find all sorts of birds strolling around. Restrooms were clean, too. Definitely recommend stopping off here whether you're going south or heading north!
This place was amazing. Everything in there looked so fresh and delicious. We brought home some tomatoes which i can't wait to try. But I was so sure about the oranges if they were in season yet. Then we saw this cute like playground and some turtles and ducks in this pond behind the place. I loved it
This is such a fun nostalgic spot for me. It's been our break stop since I traveled with my family as a child. I love the market and variety of treats and souvenirs. There is a little train outback, turtle pond and other fun things to see outside. I think everyone should make a stop here, it's a neat and calm place. The restaurant is pretty and used to be good though their customer service is down hill this last occasion so we only stop for the rest now.
I love the park like setting! The fruit is high quality and the stores do offer a variety of unique items. The restraunt is average. The brisket is dry and tough. The chicken is dry and bland. Every time I've ordered food, the order is incorrect. The parking lot is large and easy to access. I love coming here to stretch my legs. Unfortunately, I now bring my own food.
Always a great stop.
Even if only to walk about & use a restroom.
Lots of things for little ones to do too. Even a mini train (sometimes lol)
Great food, large selection of their own fruit wines, they have fuel but hopefully you have plenty because its ALWAYS very high here because next fueling depot either direction is not exactly close.
Nice stop in the 152. A little pricey but they do have a big overhead with land and the activities in the back (mini water lake, carussel, kids train, etc). Nicely decorated, clean restrooms outside the main store…just drive straight in to the end and you will see it. Fruits are excellent quality.
