It's our second time here, and certainly not the last.
We came on Sunday at lunch time, there were quite a few people but there were much more when we left.
Everything was perfect, our waiter, Jackson was very friendly and professional and the food was excellent, everything fresh and well cooked (grouper and seafood casserole) simply delicious.
The restaurant is very large, with a dining room, covered terrace and patio with very beautiful views, also an outdoor bar and even a small playground for the little ones.
Very good atmosphere and extensive parking.
Highly recommended.
We ate outside with the doggies and it was beautiful! The weather was perfect! My Husband had the flounder stuffed with lobster and crab. I had the broiled shrimp and scallops with rice. We both thoroughly enjoyed a bowl of she crab soup each! The hushpuppies were excellent!
Out of 5 meals, only one was undercooked, slightly, and that stuff happens; we understand that. Everything else was absolutely phenomenal! Presentation, taste, texture was all amazing. Largest crab legs I've had in a long time.
Service was a little slow, but we were a party of five seated in the bar at a high top and the bartenders priority is within three feet of where he pours his drinks. We did have 4 people check on the table through the meal, but we waited longer than I thought was acceptable for the check.
Drinks were nothing special with one cocktail and one beer ordered.
Got the crab dip and Dynamite shrimp appetizers. Would get the crab dip again, the shrimp seemed like the base was very mayonnaisey, with not enough heat.
My brother went to the one in Harbour Town and said it was terrible the day before we came here. The restaurant smelled like rank *** fish according to him and most of the food was overcooked.
Note to parents: The Ring game outside is impossible so you can have your kids sit there for hours trying to get the ring on the hook. The string is too short so it will never make it as of 07JUL2023
On our first day arriving to Hilton Head we decided we were going to The Crazy Crab. We were able to use the online service to make a reservation and had no issues. Food was great and service was quick. We were greatly accomated. A go to spot for seafood for sure! The great ability to mix and match on the surf and turf added to the dinning experience!
Friendly serving staff, great food, awesome view, what more could you ask for?
In addition, if you are voluptuously endowed, their outdoor seating is comfortable, AND they have outdoor seating without armrests (not all of the chairs, but some). If it's raining but otherwise nice, outdoor seating is still available due to the extended porch roof. Wheelchair friendly. Outdoor bar. The live music was not too obtrusive.
The crab stuffed flounder with hollandaise sauce was to die for, I almost stole it from my husband. We also shared the gator bites, which were really good as well. We went mid afternoon for lunch, we got a table right away, and our food came out fast. It looks like a great place for happy hour with live music 🎶
This is our go to every time we go to Hilton Head and it’s normally 5 stars. Food and atmosphere was great but our service was lacking.
I asked for an orange twice for my drink and never got it. It took forever to receive the hush puppies. He got my child’s dinner wrong and it took forever to close out. Even though i told him we were in a rush , when he finally brought our check, I had to ask for to boxes twice.
Food was outstanding as always. My husband had the seafood platter and i had the shrimp Alfredo.
Everything was ssooooo good!!! We had the flavored lemonades (strawberry, watermelon, & mango), She Crab Soup, The Original Crab Boil & The Half&Half, and we couldn’t leave without trying the Grilled Oysters! Our server was Will, he was very helpful and attentive! It’s a must that we eat here every trip! Try not to fill up off the Hushpuppies.
We've been coming to The Crazy Crab since I was just a little kid, but it has the staying power to still be one of the best restaurants on the island. This visit I enjoyed a shrimp cocktail, which was a bit skimpy on the portion for the price if I'm honest, the she crab soup, which was chock full of crab meat and absolutely smooth and divine, and then my entree was Oysters Rockefeller. The Oysters were enormous and juicy and delicious, succulent in every way. I very much enjoyed my dinner. Service was lovely and our waitress remembered us from before which was lovely and made our visit feel much more personal. Overall, I can't speak more highly of the establishment, as the food, service and views from the restaurant are just splendid.
Really enjoyed the food, and the service was awesome! I skipped what they are famous for and had the beer battered fish & chips, with shrimp. Instead of crab legs. Crunchy outer layer, flaky fish inside... delicious! I had the happy hour Crab Punch as a drink. I highly recommend both. Our experience with the hostess started our visit off to a poor start, but thankful our server and the food more than made up for her snooty attitude at the front. Will definitely be back!
