The Budding Artichoke

Moved to the HP area in July and can’t believe I just now stopped into The Budding Artichoke. It’s a great little organic grocery with friendly people and a small but well thought out collection of goods. I wandered around and wanted to buy quite a few items but limited myself to some salad greens, mangos, and rosemary bread. Looking forward to getting some weekly staples here and supporting local businesses! Great place :)

Locally sourced products. Some of the prices are not too bad and expected considering the small size of the store and limited amount of inventory. I know everyone was waiting on my review so I hope it helps. The squash and zucchini were expensive at $9.43 for 3lbs but they are for dinner tonight so I'll edit once I've tried them. The CBD was comparable to others I've seen on price. Hopefully it helps with my hip pain. Fyi- only take it in the evening as it can make you very relaxed. The candied almonds were a tad expensive but even at other stores they are a pricey pleasure. The baguette bread was also a little high at $4 but it is very good. Overall the store is clean, neat and organized. Not all prices are on the products so you will have to ask. I believe people would rather the prices be in the product hence it may cause people not to purchase it because of this. The locally sourced milk, eggs and meat selection were really good and I look forward to trying their goose eggs. If your wanting locally sourced products and health aide alternatives with a great customer service experience do not pass this place up.

I come every weekend for fresh fruits, vegetables, eggs, milk, meats, fresh baked bread, grains, and spices. This is a nice alternative to the farmers market, which can be crowded. Also, the farmers market can be a hit or miss, and Budding Artichoke is consistently great. Support your local farmers and shop local.
