The Skipper will keep you on an even keel when you're hungry. For travellers you get a tasty spot frequented by local's, serving good food at great value and not too far off the freeway. Check all the cars waiting off to the side for order pick up. I never really cared for hush puppies till I tried the ones at Skippers, still hot. Do I want an extra basket? Hellz yeah!

Stopped at Skippers in Henderson on the way to Raleigh. I'd read the positive reviews and waited to check it out. First, the food : Although the BBQ was a bit too vinegary for my taste, the fried chicken, free hush puppies, and mac and cheese were amazing. Chicken and hush puppies were fried to perfection..and not greasy at all. Restaurant was clean and COVID appropriate. The owner was super nice..a 4 generation business. If you're in the area its worth a stop.
