Had the rockfish special, pan roasted and served on a grits patty. Perhaps the best seafood meal I've ever eaten. Absolutely delicious. My description does not do it justice. Service was first rate as well. Couldn't have asked for a better experience.
I love this place! Never a bad meal or drink. Go for the big fish sandwich, fish tacos or the huge Seafood burrito. You will never go wrong with any of those three that is for sure.
Tried this spot out when in town. The food was amazing! I got the nacho and house salad and loved them both. The market boil was great too. The staff was super friendly and helpful. I’ll definitely be going back again. The views were great too!
I really enjoyed this restaurant. Even though it was freezing cold and raining on the outside, it was warm and inviting on the inside! The servers were attentive and welcoming and the food was amazing. We got two appetizers (calamari and seafood nachos) because I wanted to try as much as I could lol. For the entrée I had the crab stuffed salmon and my husband had the shrimp basket. I really really enjoyed the asparagus and baby potatoes. The batter on the shrimp and calamari was light and seasoned to perfection. We will definitely return.
10 out of 10
Definitely hit the spot. Service was great and so was the food. Don’t forget to get fries on the side. Ordered the Salmon BLT but the other plate looked better. (Personal taste) Crab dip as an appetizer was really good, must try. Portions are really filling so order accordingly. Plan ahead and get there right before sunset so you can enjoy the view.
Neat little place right by Fort Monroe overlooking the water. Was busy even on Tuesday evening that we had to wait 15 minutes for a table. There is a bar where you can get drinks while you wait.
The food was good. We got the crab dip for the table as appetizer and it was really good. I got the blackened crab cake (which was recommended as opposed to pan fried). The crab cake was a little too charred for my taste but that was only in the surface. The crab cake was ok, the crab dip was really good. My colleague got crab stuffed salmon and really liked it. Overall neat little place to go and have some food.
Gin/cucumber cocktail and fried shrimp basket was a fantastic combination. Hands down the best hush puppies ace cocktail sauce of any place in the area. Wish the coleslaw had been more inventive, but it was fine. Perfect outdoor seating for a warm day. Can't wait to go back.
Service was great - Katie was awesome! We were celebrating a 90th Birthday! The elevator was out of commission and we had an 85 and a 90-year old in our party. Other customers in restaurant went above and beyond to say "Happy Birthday" and to assist with maneuvering the steps. There are still kind people in this world. And food was delicious! My first time visiting, but won't be my last.
Pretty good food. One person would end up costing you about $20. We offer variety of dishes involving various seafood. While you are waiting, you get treated to a view of the dock. The restaurant is upstairs, and it requires climbing some steps to get to it. I was out of breath by the time I get up there. There doesn't seem to be a handicapped entrance, so if you have a hard time climbing steps, you will need some help getting up there. Overall, I had a good experience.
The Big Fish sandwich is not to be missed when going to Deadrise. I think the fish is flounder. It's flaky, fresh, and huge. I've had it several times, and the fish is always almost double the size of the Hawaiian bread bun. I get the $5 cheap beer with shot and my meal is complete. I highly recommend Deadrise.
