This is a local establishment offering some local fare, like clams, and orher seafood.
The place is small and can get busy, but have a drink and time will pass by quickly.
Service was good and then they'd forget about us intil we summoned someone, and then they'd be back on track.
The salad was a little wilted.
The guacamole was delicious and the chips were crispy.
The clams in broth were yummy. The bread is good and hot!
We had a good time.
Always a fun & delicious meal at Canal Cafe! Lovely setting overlooking the water, laid back atmosphere, with terrific food and great service.
Fish & chips, scallops, and a fried chicken sandwich along with my favorite cocktail (cocomo).
Cute, very busy, place with nice view of the marina. Service was good. Food was average, cocktails were good. May try again in the off season when they’re not so busy and see if it’s better.
Very nice atmosphere on the marina. We headed here for lunch and ordered the large lobster roll, ceasar salad and two cocktails. Our bill was $169.00 for two people. Sadly, this pricing is typical in the Hamptons areas whether you're a multi-millionaire or not.
Food is served on paper plates and cocktails in plastic cups. The service is curt and swift but not unfriendly. They were super busy both times we went so I can understand.
The large lobster roll was tasty and generous. It's served on a ciabatta roll, which I'm not crazy about. I personally prefer a more delicate roll so it doesn't compete with the lobster meat. The fries were nice and crispy. I didn't take pics of the food because they don't focus on the presentation here.
The real reason I am leaving a review is for the amazing cocktail I had that I'm still thinking about today, weeks after we were there. It's called the Bad Hombre and was so delicious that we went back the next night for another round 💀.
If you are a fan of ginger and spice, like I am, you will love it. I am still longing for it, and I don't even drink tequila or alcohol much!
The lentil soup did not seem homemade even though the description definitely made it sound as if it was. There was nothing special about it and the bowl was very small for $10! Definitely generally overpriced although everything else we had was good, just not exceptional. Wait staff is great, tons of regulars quite obviously-- making up the bulk of their business. Could you use a little spiffing up for the interior, as it's a little run down considering the prices, nice bar and great staff, and pretty good food. Very nice patio. Hostess (older lady) wasn't too friendly. :-(
Had a wonderful lunch at Canal Cafe today. We enjoyed the escarole & bean soup, Lobster salad, salmon (cooked to perfection) and shrimp tacos. The table next to us had the chicken w rice n beans and it looked so good we got it to go. Our server, Tara couldn't be more accommodating and friendly. All around a memorable experience and we look forward to our next visit.
Went with my hb for brunch and food was really good. Big portions. Staff is super friendly. AMAZING hospitality. Unfortunately we weren’t able to eat next to the water on the lower deck. There was so many ppl that day, that it was hard not to sit down and hear everyone’s conversation.

Staycation worthy!!!! Enjoy the water-view while sipping their fresh brewed iced tea. Food is excellent!!!!!
Stopped here for lunch on a business trip based on reviews. Nice spot on the water with both indoor and outdoor seating. Service was friendly and laid back and food was good, though slightly heavy/greasy for lunch. Fountain sodas on the menu are actually from a can but thier homemade iced tea was delicious.
Great food and service overlooking the water. Outside seating is fun when weather is good. Inside seating is nice and cosy around the bar area. May have to wait for a table in high season.
