What an experience! The staff is extremely friendly and the food is something to savor! We stumbled upon this place because our first choice wasn't open yet, and I'm glad it wasn't. Our server was incredibly informative, helpful and patient while we made our selections and the atmosphere was authentic and inviting. We chose to be seated outdoors where we were surprised with a small Wagon Train parade! Definitely worth visiting again.

Fantastic! We stopped here for lunch on the way home from Shenandoah and were glad we did! Jaeger schnitzel Hunter style and pork schnitzel with spaetzle and carrots. See for yourself in the photos. Nice sized portions and a beautiful restaurant. Very neat and clean with lots of space for larger groups! We washed it all down with house made German chocolate cake. Yum!

While on a minivacay in the Washington County area, we made a plan to eat here at the Stube. We had high hopes and it did not disappoint. The staff were professional, friendly and accommodating. The beers will please any fan of German beers. Each served in the appropriate glass with sizes just as I remember when we visited Germany - 8oz, 16oz and 32oz. The menu is extensive and makes decisions pleasantly difficult. I decided on the Wurst Teller with a selection of 3 sausages, sauerkraut, Brussels sprouts, and what seemed to be a savory bread pudding. As you see in the photo, I couldn't wait to attack the weiss wurst before snapping a picture. My wife had a roast pork dish and everything was absolutely delicious! My only regret is that I didn't bring enough of an appetite, but they boxed up the leftovers. Just a great experience and we will definitely return!

We came to Schmankerl Stube to try out some authentic Bavarian food, as we will be traveling to Germany soon, and it did not disappoint. Some of the best food I've had, from the appetizers to the main course as well as dessert. Our waitress, Liz, was excellent and once we told her we would be visiting Germany soon, she gave us so many tips and little tricks to get the most out of our visit as she travelled there multiple times. The expansive restaurant itself was very inviting and cozy and had a nice outdoor/streetside area (it got a little loud at times). No doubt we'll be back. Simply amazing.

This place is Amazing! This restaurant is truly authentic and most definitely will be coming back. Just so you know, it is pricy. The pictures that I showed you with 2 sodas costed my husband and I $100.00

My husband and I are always looking for amazing German food. This place did not disappoint in the slightest. For an appetizer we ordered the wurst sample platter. Dinner we got a combination for two which I have forgotten the name. For desert the apple strudel. Everything was absolutely amazing. The seasoning was on point, the strudel was the best strudel I have had in ages. We drove three hours just to try the restaurant. They did not disappoint. With very friendly and top-notch customer service and amazing food I really hope they stick around for a very long time. We will certainly be back.

No need for Chinese or chopped chicken heads, we came to Schmankerl Stube for Christmas Eve dinner instead. If you decide to you'll be greeted by an authentic charm of old world decor and classic German fare. As a designated beer nerd who cut his teeth on German and Belgium beer I inquired if they served the infamous "boot", which our waitress replied no, only a 1 liter. Disappointed I ordered a Kostritzer dark lager (4.8% abv) and was shocked on the bill it was $9 for a 12oz bottle. I wish our waitress had confirmed it was a bottled beer or given me the draft options but I take fault in not inquiring too so it's offsetting penelties. I wanted to try their pork shank entree but you need to give a 24hr notice unless you come at a specific time on Wednesday's (pictured). Instead I opted for the most tounge twisting item on the menu and give our waitress an A+ for speaking it so effortlessly. In fact she was delightful in every way from personality, punctuality and helpfulness. My meal was described as beef and pork tips in a "Munich Style" mushroom cream sauce, served with spatzle, corn and bacon wrapped green beans. First off, the tips were slathered in a sauce that was more broth than cream and it was hard to tell the difference between the meats as the texture was about the same. The spatzle and sides were on the dry side and could have used more flavor. I understand this is comfort food but they're charging uncomfortable prices as my entree cost $28 and our total bill (2 beers and 2 entrees) ending up at $87 before tip. This restaurant is unique, with great service, and a lasting heritage here in Maryland but I personally cannot justify spending this much money on simple German staples. If I came back it would probably only be for the great homemade desserts and a 1liter of draft beer!
