Groucho's Deli

My first visit to Groucho’s was overall a pleasant experience. A little confusing initially with where to order/sit for dining in, but once I placed my order at the counter everything went smoothly. Really good club on sub roll stacked ridiculously high. Coleslaw was unique and delicious. Great customer service, very friendly staff. The restaurant itself was a little worn and the tables could use to be wiped down, but overall a good experience. Pricy for a sub, but then again it’s a lot of food per serving and the location is in the heart of downtown so it’s to be expected. Would recommend.

First time dining in at Groucho’s and was very pleased with the customer service from the waiter. I wish I had gotten his name but I forgot to ask so whomever was working around 4pm on Friday the 21st, thank you for providing excellent service. I tried the Groucho’s BLT which was delicious, next time I order it I will ask for it without the third piece of bread. (Because it is triple layer-personal preference) the pasta salad is delicious, I liked the cauliflower and carrots in it. The chips were almost near perfect, they were thin but crunchy and not overly salty. The waiter also provided me with the house sauce to try since it was my first time visiting and it reminded me of a sweeter thousand island dressing. Nonetheless it was tasty for dipping my chips and sandwich in it. The sweet tea is a must order, it is literally just right as far as sweetness and the ice makes it 2x better. The atmosphere is clean and spacious, good food and awesome sweet tea. I would definitely add Groucho’s to the list of “must try’s”. I will be back again!

So I’ve had a salad from here before this visit and it was ok, price was reasonable and the ranch dressing was to die for. I’ve had their sandwiches on prior visits they are quite tasty. It was fresh. Very fresh. The salad I mean. So I wanted soup or chilli today, I decided on them because other foods had been ok. I ordered the chicken chili I like that it was hot as In not lukewarm. It doesn’t look appetizing it’s dry lots of beans tomatoes or something don’t know looks like slop it’s too spicy. Too salty. Not happy with it, won’t order it again when I go. I’m giving five stars vs lower rating because their food is reasonably priced and the workers there are always friendly it’s clean no flies or food caked on the floor and they get your order to you quick . This just wasn’t tasty chillin but other items I’ve had there like their sandwiches and salad are to die for too.

Enjoyed the food but one of the dirtiest restaurants Greenville has to offer. My mom always said you can judge a restaurant by their windows and how clean or dirty they are. Well... Front entrance was filthy after only being open a couple house on Sunday, glass cabinet with shirts for sale was so filthy it looked as of it hadn't seen a cleaning for what looked like months, Most of the tables were missing the decorative centerpiece logo sticker rendering each table so sticky my cup made a sound every time I peeled it off to take a drink(a small cold visiting with his mother and sister echoed our sentiments at three tables they tried before finding a tolerable one), the menus were also sticky, and the register to leave was dirty. So all in all I strengthened my immunity today. Food was delicious and my plates were clean but probably won't revisit for a long time. Update 2/20/22-They contacted me as you can see immediately and I responded with an email as requested: "Hey, responding back per your request from my review. Thank you for your attention. I hope you have looked into it and can rectify it as the food was exceptional. One other place of uncleanliness I failed to mention were the bottom half of the windows, below the table levels. These areas showed many splatters of spilled drinks etcetera. Again, I appreciate your attentiveness and would love to see the change, we'd then visit often and would quickly change the review." They haven't responded yet wonder why. Either way not my problem. Hope they have beautiful clean glass and clean table tops by now.

I love the food at Groucho’s and we try to eat at one whenever we are in SC but the Greenville location is ridiculously rude. Two of us went in to grab a quick bite and was told they didn’t have tables and were too short staffed to wait on us. I noticeably saw plenty of empty tables and asked if we could sit at one of those and was turned away. For the past 7-8 years of going to Grouchos this is the only location we’ve had a bad experience and feel someone needs to teach these people working some manners. Completely ridiculous
