Used open table to reserve a table for dinner on a Saturday night. Table was ready at our expected time. Our waiter was good. We had the braised short rib, shrimp and grits, fried green tomatoes, and banana creme pie. All of the food was amazing!!!!!! The braised short rib was so tender you could cut it with a fork! Would definitely recommend eating here. There is inside and outside seating available.

Best she crab soup ever! Shrimp and grits are very nice and the swordfish special was a great recommendation. Will enjoy this place many more times in the future I am sure!

I’ve been visiting Soby’s for more than 20 years, and they rarely disappoint. Sometimes, like our Tuesday night Restaurant Week visit, it’s exceptional. Snowy weather kept the crowd down, but the staff was totally on their game. Seated promptly, our server Keri stopped to greet us and set the tone with a quick discussion of COVID protocols and to take our drink order. From the outset, she made it clear that we had options to customize our meal- even though we were glancing through the specific Restaurant Week menu. We ordered the Short Ribs, and asked if one of our orders could come without the “Stolen Old BBQ #6” sauce. No problem. Wanted to add a single pork medallion (which I normally order as a full entree). No problem. The short ribs were done perfectly and delivered with BBQ sauce on the side. Even substituted mashed potatoes for the Roasted Poblano slaw on one of our plates. No problem. Getting a theme here? Do have to say that the pork medallion was quite flavorful, but slightly overcooked- only a minor hiccup. The “it’s your meal, not ours” attitude was just what we needed. Coming off a dining experience last week with one of Greenville’s “personality chefs” where the militant inflexibility has us not returning to what was a long-time, and frequently recommended fav, this was just what we needed! $35 includes appetizer or salad, entree, and dessert. With Keri at the wheel, a fantastic experience worth recommending!

Today my husband and I ate here for lunch. We both ordered the crab cakes with corn hash browns and green beans also tried their sticky bun. Had to send back the crab cake due to the inside being cold (reason why I gave 4stars). The meal was still packed with flavor and I would still order that again on our next visit. Ordered a sticky bun to go. Waiter mentioned they often sell out of those and I understand why. The bun is fresh and had just enough sweetness. Waiter was very friendly. Ambience was rustic and neat. They offer outside seating also.

Great downtown Greenville restaurant. But I can’t give it 5 stars. We went for Sunday brunch. Holy delicious chicken biscuit. Also the cinnamon bun thingy. Such good food! 😋 The outdoor seating area is beautiful when the weather is nice. The server was great. There’s valet parking right there so it’s very convenient. The only complaint I have is not having the option to order a pitcher of mimosa. I thought that was a common thing. UPDATE: This time we went for dinner. The food was delicious. The server was great. The upstairs is very cool in concept and visually appealing, but it is incredibly stuffy up there and we smelled like restaurant the rest of the night. Also it took our food way longer than it should have. We were a party of 3 and a party of 6-8 that arrived after us were done and gone by the time we got our food. For these reasons, and the lack of mimosas in a pitcher for our table to share when we were there for brunch, I have to take away a star.

Went for my birthday dinner! The atmosphere, staff, and food was amazing! Initially it was really hot, but they shut a couple doors and I guess adjusted the air and temperature felt much better! Overall great experience and will be back!

An excellent experience as expected. We were disappointed to find that they were out of mussels but, next time! Striped bass was very good and the she crab soup was the best I’ve had. The most interesting part was the “pinecone cake” for dessert. This was a beautifully crafted piece of art that took some serious time and effort. Not only did it look awesome, it was delicious.
