Flat Rock Grille

First time dining here. We were definitely excited when looking over the menu. However, the food is just average. I liked the fried catfish I ordered but it was way too salty. Asparagus was also salty and side of rice was not fresh. My wife’s shrimp Alfredo lacked flavor, did not have many shrimp, and the pasta was over cooked. We ate an early dinner so ruling out the time. Pricing would call for way better quality. Atmosphere is really nice though and our server was great. Seems like it could be hit or miss in general reading other reviews..

Food was good as well as the service. I rated a four due to the menu. We went at lunch and they had a lunch menu which was fine, however the menu was very busy and unorganized. There was no organization to the menu, items that should have been together were not. For example chicken items together, fish etc. The menu seemed to be more limited than when we had ate there before, possibly due to lunch menu opposed to dinner. The great thing was that for a salad or sandwich there were lots of choices.

Visiting Furman University from out of town. We asked around for best restaurant and our hotel gave us Flat Rock. We had a great experience both with food and service. We now come here when we are in town to enjoy the atmosphere with family, friends and players of the team. We came back the next day and ate lunch and had the plum chicken with plantains. yummy !

Loved the atmosphere. My husband and I were extremely impressed with the food. I got the Baked Stuffed Shrimp with Lobster Sauce and it was amazing. I mean melt in you mouth. Husband got the ribs and they were fall off the bone tender. The service was fantastic she was attentive without being overbearing and we never had to wait for a drink refill or anything. I think we found our new "Go To".
